Gary Longacre, Jr. Memorial
I've removed the death date and the close-up marker photo; plus added a note stating that he's still alive. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. P.S. If you think that I really need to, I could delete the entire memorial.

I agree I sent you the wrong SS app. I apologize. Almost immediately after hitting the send button, I sent you a follow-up message to disregard my request. This family of Reed's are part of my family tree. I am aware of the book. Thank you for your response.

RE: Mamie Salley, Rose Hill Cemetery
If her obituary said she was born in Colleyville, that's probably the best one to use on the memorial. Colleyville is in Tarrant Co, TX. Thanks for your help.

You are right that her bio is off a year. I'll fix that.

My Mom told me that when the first typhoid vaccines came out that her dad went to her school and held every child as they were vaccinated. He told her that as he had lost 2 children to the disease he wanted to make sure it happened to no other child.

Chester A Stanton Memorial Cemetery
FYI, Take a look at your entries at "Stanton" cemetery. That is the wrong cemetery listing/ name. I see several duplicates that already have pages at Chester-Stanton.

RE: Bodholdts/Mikkelsens
Thank you very much. I have never had the pleasure of visiting Buena Vista County. Most of my relatives were in Clinton and Jackson Counties in the east and Carroll and Crawford Counties in the West. One branch of my wife's family trekked from DuPage County Illinois to Hardin County Iowa to South Dakota and back to Aurora Illinois. She also had family that settled in Clayton County and stopped at Plymouth County before heading to South Dakota. I have been planning a trip to western Iowa, South Dakota and western Minnesota for a couple of years, but my nieces and nephews are inconveniently getting married and foiling my plans.

Thanks again.

Hello happy to connect with you here. Thank you for the link you sent me. I will have to check it out. Martin is my Great - Great Grandfathers son and my grandfather Christoffer Christensen's brother. I was fortunate as a child to live in the same house they all lived in, in Alta, Iowa and I was about 5-6 yrs old when my Grt grandmother Maria Kajsa Fredriksdotter of Sweden passed away. I was so fortunate to have met her. All the pictures I have for passed down to me a few years ago. Feel free to copy any of them that you wish. The only picture I have of Martin is the one I have posted as a small child. Thank you for your reply.

Horatio Erhart
True the Valley Falls New Era sometimes refers to HDE as "Rash" or "Uncle Rash" but just as often refers to him as "Rush" or "Uncle Rush". The Farmer's Vindicator of Valley Falls refers to him as "Rush". The Leavenworth Times and Winchester Star (Kansas) refer to him as "Rush" and "Uncle Rush". It seems the "Uncle Rush" appellation became more common in his latter years. His grandson, my uncle, who was also named Horatio D. Erhart was commonly called by all "Rush". My uncle's son, also named Horatio D. Erhart was called by some "Rus", I assume to make a distinction from his father. I have a copy of the 1912 obituary for Horatio Erhart from the Winchester Star but it uses no nickname for the deceased. I have a short obituary for his wife also from the Winchester Star. I'll post them on FindaGrave (sometime!). I think whoever ordered or made the monument for "Rush" got it right. Thanks again for the picture.
