Lisa ~ Great news! I found Nadine when I was at the cemetery office today. Her name when she was interred was Nadine Swailes. I did a quick search when I got home to verify it was her, and there is a SS death record for her (last address was in Washington state). Good luck! Sheri Ross

I'm sure you must be right. Even though my records show KY, I'm sure it's IN, too.

RE: Carlyle Wurster
Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll have to contact the Humboldt county courthouse to see where she is buried. I would guess that a couple of others in her family are buried there as well. Letha was one of 6 children of Monroe Robert Hoskins. You can see him on Find A Grave and see others in his family. Belva was the youngest and a real spitfire right up until she passed. She gave everyone she knew a $2 bill that was to used for her remembrance party. The Hoskin family was a well to do family coming from a line of furniture makers, funeral homes, bankers and lawyers. Robert's wife Etta Hadley was from another well to family. Bankers and other professions. I have the Hoskin's family back to 1664 but can't load them all in Find A Grave because I don't know where some are buried. Do you know anything about Jane Wurster, Phyllis's sister? If you would like more info on the Hoskin family, let me know. I would be glad to share it with you.

My brother in law was married to Belva Hoskins daughter, Mary Etta. I did most of the Hoskins tree for them but have a couple of stumbling blocks, Carlyle's family and Letha's burial location.

Appreciate any help you can give.

I checked the directory for Dawson, Owens, Norton and Philby, and do not see her, so I will add it to my list of 'missing' persons on the directory. I want to identify all I can ~ directory is useless if you can't find your person! I'll let you know what I find out. Sheri

Philby family Sioux City
Hi Lisa ~ I transferred the Philby's to you, & now have add'l info for you: all are in Sec 11, Lot 181. Interment dates: Bert, 7/9/1927; John 9/29/1937; Lola 6/14/1957; Stella 3/6/1986. Also, I do not see Nadine listed as Philby or Norton ~ any other name it might be? I am working with cem director to correct directory errors, so any help appreciated on Nadine. Thanks! Sheri Ross

Chamberlin Family
Hello Lisa,
My mother's cousin is a granddaughter of Rollo Guy Chamberlin, her mother was Louise Chamberlin (Arthur Kennebeck), Louise being a sister of Rollo Chamberlin, and I discovered your name at Rollo's memorial, I forgot to make note of his memorial number, he is at rest at Woodland Cemetery here in McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois. I have further Chamberlin family members and info from this Chamberlin family, if they are a part of your Chamberlin family? You can find my contact info in my bio. I look forward to hearing from you. I did put in a photo request for Rollo, even though he was lost at sea during WW II, sometimes family will have a marker put in place?

Hello Lisa O

The update has been completed, yes, please feel free to post anything into the memorials that helps to complete them.

Have you ever heard of a website called GenDisasters.com? I use this whenever I have an individual who has met with an accidental death.

As I research I find so many deaths of infants and young children from natural disasters and accidents, but there are no burial locations for them. I use the GenDisasters to document them, along with others I come across.

The story concerning the rattlesnake bite would be appropriate there as well and gives a researcher one more chance to find the family.

RE: Photo of Ben Shelton
Hi Lisa,
No, I am not a Shelton researcher. I live across the road from Mt Hope and just put all the stones on Find A Grave, and than researched and published a book on the cemetery. There are many Sheltons listed at the LaSalle County Genealogy Guild. If you go to lscgg.org and click on site map you can find search choices. There are indexes for marriage, death, obits, and probate. I live nearby and can find copies to send to you. My email is ruthieee@hotmail.com. I would be glad to help.

RE: Photo of Ben Shelton
Hi Lisa,
Yes, you are welcome to use my photo of Ben Shelton's stone. I also put Louise Shelton's photo on, and you are welcome to use that also. We did a lot of research in Mt Hope Cemetery and found records for a Benjamine Shelton Jr. who died 26 Jul 1909. He probably was 11 or 12, and the son of Ben and Louise. There are twin babies buried there-Janelle and Joshua Shelton who were born 2 Jul 1982 and died same day. They were children of Rodney and Regina. No stones for the children. If you want more info, I would be glad to send it to you.

RE: Frances Elizabeth PerrynRoss
I would be happy to have James Franklin Ross' and Frances "Fanny" Elizabeth Perry Ross' memorials transferred to me to maintain. Thank you for the offer.
Do you happen to have or know who might have photographs of James Ivan "Evan" Ross and his wife, Laura Staton Ross? Many of my wife's cousins have told us photographs exist and some have even seen them but nobody knows where they are? We do have one photo of Comfederate veterans in front of the courthouse which shows him (at least we are pretty sure it is him).
Do you know if my photos of Thomas Griffin Ross exist? Since he lived after the War Between the States, it is provable photos exist.
Thanks for your cooperation.
Jim

Frances Elizabeth PerrynRoss
Nickname "Fanny". Please connect her to her father - Jeremiah Perry #46966644. Her mother, Jeremiah's second wife is not yet listed, so neither of the two wives connected to Jeremiah on his memorial are Fanny's mother. I also have photos of her to connect to her memorIal. She is my wife's great-Grandmother.
