RE: Bosaaen
Hello again Jean! Hope you are well!
If you are refering to the Bosaaen graves, I have got all the photos and info i need. I came in contact with a local Karin Halverson who has done a fantastic job for me this summer with photos and checking archives.
The latest and only request I have here on "Findagrave" and not got any reply on yet, is of Edward Bratlien born 26Feb 1890, died 14Jun 1965 and his wife Anna/Annie born 26Feb 1890, died unknown. They are bueried at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery,Mountrail,North-Dakota. If anyone could take a photo of this grave it would be nice!
Greetings from Espen Carlsen in Oslo, Norway.

RE: Lerud
Yeah I went out to get Henry Christopherson KIA in WWII and the cemetery is so small a snapped every veteran photo.

I might just stop out and take photos of every grave sometime.

RE: Flores
No relation to Mr. Flores. I'm searching for a Texas death certificate (in an as-yet-unindexed collection) in El Paso Co., Texas, in Feb. 1982, and have been inputting and/or submitting edit requests for each certificate as I go through them.

Thanks for your help with Robert's memorial, and for everything you do at Find-A-Grave!

RE: Nancy Gilbert
There are no other Tuffs that I know of there but other than his civil war service record, I haven't researched this branch of the family (I misspelled the name in my previous message). I found many family photos on which I really loved seeing. If there are others I'd love to connect with them and one day I'll make the drive from Duluth to Deer Creek.

RE: Nancy Gilbert
I received the transfer...thank you. Her mother and father were homesteading in deer creek back in the late 1800's. They were James and Adelia Tufts. I believe they are also buried in this cemetery. When Nancy died in Scanlon, her husband, IRA Sylveness took her to Deer Creek to be buried.....he stayed in Scanlon and remarried a few years later. I can't thank you enough....I've always wanted to make the trekk to Deer Creek but have never found the time. This is doubly nice because my mother's maiden name was also Nancy Gilbert.

Thank you, I would love to manage great grandma's are very generous. Yes, I was raised in Duluth m until we moved to Oregon in 1969 when I was 16. Still have "Gilbert" relatives in Duluth and I was back for a reunion last August. There's just something about Duluth that always draws me back. Nice corresponding with you. Happy graving.

Hello, I noticed that you manage the Find-a-Grave site for Nancy V. (Tuffs) Gilbert and read, in your bio that you do genealogy. I do too! My grandfather was Ivan Earl Gilbert, son of Nancy and Ira Sylveness Gilbert. If you are related to the Gilbert or Tuffs family, I'd like to learn more about how we are related. I live in Portland Oregon. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Gordon and Ruth Carkhuff
Thank you for the information. My grandfather William Earl Ritzman were Gordon were cousins. When my grandfather passed he had a box of photographs and a basic family tree he was working on. I am basically the only one in my family that has taken on the task of organizing our history and finishing the tree. There is still a lot I do not know for the simple fact my grandfather never spoke about his family and my older aunt and uncles are forgetting much of it as well.

Thank you for the headstone picture. Also the cemetery picture. Another person had added one but it hadn't come on any of the 10 memorials so something had been done wrong I guess. Thats great you added it. Sandra Munyon

RE: Lerud memorials
Well, Jean! This is Karin Knutson~ I saw alot of the Ruud's. If I had known, I would have taken pics of all of them. I did take pictures of all of the Lerud's I saw and ended up adding 3 Lerud children: Alma, Clara, and Julia, who were all buried together. Hope all is going well for you. If there are other pictures you need, let me know.
Take Care,

Hi Jean-
Sorry it has taken meso long to get back to you.
My Great Aunt doesn't know who may have the info for the cemetery anymore. The man that was the caretaker, has passed away.
However, when I was trying to get information for my Mom's side of the family; I contacted the following office.
Pennington County Recorder
Thief River Falls, MN. 56701
They have quite a bit of info-
I hope that this helps.
Take care,

Clearwater Cemetery
Hi Jean-

My mother's side of the family is from this area and as you could see- are all buried in the cemetery at this location. They all attended this church etc. My Mother was born in Thief River Falls, and they all grew up near the farm in Plummer. My great Aunt and Uncle are still alive. My Great Uncle is the last child of 15- most of them are buried in this cemetery along with their parents(my great grand parents) and his grandmother (my great great grandmother). My great grand father and his mother came from Norway and settled in the area appr 1880. I will contact them for you and see if they know who would possibly have a list for you. Luckily, for me they already had the pictures of the headstones etc. and the old picture of the church which I posted. I'll see what I can track down for you. They are in their early 90's now- but, still have pretty good memories. I will get back to you.
Take care-

Here is the email I received that I tried to forward to you, but came back to me. Re: Mary Ness

Find A Grave contributor sewhat has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Anders Ness.
Link to memorial:
Link to contributor profile:

Their suggestion:
According to the parish record, he was born May 5, 1859 in Ådal, Buskerud.  (click on 1859 and he is near the top of page 14).  Also on his wife's page her birth year is listed as 1850, but below you have 1860.  There is another Mary Ness with similar dates listed at a cemetery in Pennington County and one of the daughters you have listed is linked to her.  She is listed as being born in 1859 (as does the 1900 census and her marriage record to Anders) and so I looked on the Norway archives site and found who I think is her.  Her DOB is June 19, 1859 in Gran, Oppland.  She is on page 114-115 (father is Hans Nielsen & mother is Kari).  Anyway, obviously I'm not related to these people and have no connection to them so I could be way off.  I have just transcribed a lot of cemeteries in Norman County and linked many families because I hope that it helps people find long lost relatives (especially married daughters).

Mary Ness
Hello Jean, I just forwarded you an email I received from another Find A Grave. member regarding records for Mary and Anders Ness. She also called it to my attention that you also created a memorial for Mary Ness, but have different dates of birth and death. Sorry about that. I guess mine is a duplicate. I will take care of that, but would like you to read this email I forwarded to you first before I delete Mary's memorial. I did notice that you linked one of their children to Anders and to his wife's memorial that you created. Other children are linked to Mary as well, but to the memorial I created. Didn't meant to make a mess of things. :( I suppose we both need to work on these family links together so they all end up correct. I am related to the Ness family from my Casmey side of the family. I obtained what records I have from a family tree on Although I realize they can be wrong, I thought it was at least a start. I'm sorry for the duplicate memorial of Mary. It was an innocent mistake that I will correct. I'd love to hear from you. Looks like we are related, if even from a distance. Take care.

RE: Grave of Iver Bosaaen
Hello again Jean.
I just got home from work and read your e-mail.
This is fantastic! Now I have photo of stones to Iver, his wife Anne and their youngest son Amund.
I am impressed, how fun this is!!
When I search the name Bosaaen, I can also see there is another grave in this cemetery belonging to one of their daughters; Pauline Iverson Bosaaen, born about 1861, dead unknown.
Could you perhaps in July check if you can find this stone and take a photo of this? Good luck!
I know nothing more about these relatives, only that my great great grandparents emigrated in 1880 to Cuba Township, Becker County in Minnesota.
It was Iver and Anne with 8 children; Peder,Kari,Marit,Pauline,Christian,Ole,Ingeborg and Amund.
Thank you very much for your super service,Jean!
Wish you and your family a good summer!

Hi Jean
I'm so glad that you found your uncle. I have transferred his memorial to you, as you should be taking care of him. :) I grew up in Bethany and still live here.

I remember the day I took all of these photos, it was spring of 09, my grandparents are buried there and I was taking more current pics of their stone. And I kind of gravitate towards older areas in cemeteries, and I knew most of them were not listed.

I walked up to the old area which is the southwest area of the cemetery. I didn't walk completely to the corner though. I took about 3o-40 pics there. This might be easier; if you come in the south drive, that's the one off of 63rd, drive about 75 feet. The area there on your left was where I was walking. You will have to walk that area but that's where he is. If you don't find him let me know and I will try to be more exact.

My best to you.
