Phillip, I found a death certificate for Frank. It stated his place of burial was Smith Chapel, Moore County, TN. There are Gentry's in this cemetery that may be a part of Frank's family. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you and God Bless.

You are welcome..I was with a group putting flags on vets graves that day..it was a chance to do THAT as well as a chance to be shown where some of these obscure, nearly forgotten cemeteries are. I intend to re visit the cemeteries and do more photos very soon.

Phillip,

I'm sorry to have mislead you. I made photos of james rufus and wife, not james mitchell and wife. If it's still unclaimed when I visit there again, I'find the correct marker.

RE: New grave marker request
My husband and I were in this area and stopped at the house you indicated. Four vehicles in yard, but could not get any response to knocking front and back, possibly hunting. Will make another attempt later.
Sorry,
Gloria

RE: Elizabeth Ector
You are very welcome. I am sorry that the stone has degraded so that the wording is not very legible. I tried to get the best shot that I could but that one was the best. I examined the stone carefully to confirm that it is the correct one but I wish the photo had been clearer. Cross Roads has to be one of the best kept church cemeteries I have ever seen but, with markers dating back to the 1700 and 1800s, time seems to take its toll.

RE: New grave marker request
This is so interesting, but I will have to wait awhile unless there is a cowpath. With the mild winter, I could get out quite a bit, but spring has brought all the beautiful flowers, shrubs, and awakened the crawling critters as well. Next time I am in library, I will see what I can find.
