RE: Richard & Mary Seals Morton - Carr Fork Cmty
Okay, I spoke too soon about the Mortons. The pictures you took are for this couple but the dates on the stone are evidently incorrect. I double checked the Kentucky Death Index and Richard died in 1940 and Mary died in 1944. The dates on the memorial are right. So don't make another memorial for them. If any of these people in Carr Creek Cemetery are your family, I would be happy to transfer them to you.

RE: Richard & Mary Seals Morton - Carr Fork Cmty
I posted these graves from a listing on the internet. I am sure that these two are the same people. Whoever copied the cemetery must have misread the dates. I will change the dates to match the stone. Thank you

Carr Fork Cemetery
I could not help but notice all the photographs you have been taking in the cemetery, and all the edits you have been sending to me, to make the memorials more correct. I certainly don't mind receiving them--quite the contrary! I am really glad that someone has taken the time and the interest to make the memorials more accurate. And the photographs you are taking are just lovely. Thank you for taking so much time to make the memorials in the Carr Fork Cemetery so nice and so meaningful for families. You are very thoughtful and considerate to do so.

RE: Avery Draughn photo
You're welcome. I wish I was able to take a much clearer picture. We were on vacation (being from Texas) and passing through the area that evening just after a storm. The sun was setting but still light enough to go to the cemetery and take photos. The sunset was right behind that marker. Glad to be able to get some photos for your request regardless.

Dan, thanks! I should have looked on the Knott County Kin Folk site, I have used it for years. In fact most all of the folks in the Robert S Cornett (aka Cornett Hill) Cemetery are my relation if not all. Thanks again

Vester Amburgey and Anna Gibson
Thank you so much for the photo, your time and effort and for proving that Anna is buried in The Same Cemetery as her husband. Another find a grave member has her listed in a different cemetery and I have advised him where she is really buried. Hopefully he will change it. Thank You Nancy

David Draughan/Draughon
I have verified with the cemetery that Nonie Draughan and Robert Draughan (son) are buried in Section 4, Block 7, plot 36 and have pictures already posted on their memorials ( I created a memorial for Robert since he did not have one). The plot is a 4-space plot and there is a grave for a Mattie Brown (unknown if a relative). SO it would seem logical that David Draughan is also buried there. HOWEVER, this cemetery has been sold a number of times over the years and even changed its name three times. MANY records have been lost due to several fires to the office over the years. It is also possible that David Draughan has a flat marker which may have, over the years been overgrown with grass. I feel sure that he is indeed in that same plot with his wife and son, but cannot see a marker. You might want to request the cemetery do a probe (basically a metal rod pushed down in the area where a marker would be) to see if the probe "hits" a solid object/marker. The probe does not go down but a couple of feet so the grave is not disturbed. The number at Woodlawn is 919-682-2441 if you want to request that. I am copying this message to findagrave contributor Larry Draughon who set up the memorials for the Draughon/Draughan family and he may decide to call Woodlawn.
