Thank you so very much for the transfer of my Gr Aunt, in Camp Springs Cemetery. I have already started connecting her with the family and filling out the memorial. It means a lot to me to care for her memorial.

Here is the obituary for Phine South. Her name was Mary Josephine (Dickey) South. Her nickname was "Phine". She was my paternal aunt. If you are not related you can transfer this memorial over to me. Thanks so much for creating it.

Obituary - Mrs. South Rites Today in Hobbs - SNYDER - Funeral for Mrs. Clyde South, 54, a resident of Camp Springs 35 years, was to be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Hobbs Baptist Church. Marvin Rogers, retired Baptist minister, was to officiate, assisted by the Rev. J.H. Skiles, retired Baptist minister. Burial was to be in Camp Springs Cemetery, Bell-Seale Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. South died at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday at the Hogan - Malone Hospital in Big Spring. She was born Dec 26, 1913 in Clarksville and was married Dec 20, 1928 in Plainview. They moved from Hawley to Synder 35 years ago.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Denny of Abilene; her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Prather of Weatherford and Ms. Delphine King of Sweetwater; two sons, Charles Ray of Seminole and Lewis Wayne of Terrell; one sister, Mrs. Lou Shaw of Fort Worth; five brothers, Ben J. Dickey of Snyder, John Dickey of Abilene, Homer Dickey of Missouri, Frank Dickey of Arizona and Gwinn [Guinn] Dickey of Dallas; 14 grandchildren.

the 2nd listing for Mrs. R. G. Deshazo (1854-1912 should be for Mr. Deshazo. His full name was Robert Gamble Deshazo. The middle name of Gamble came from his mother, Elizabeth Adeline Gamble.

Cowboy Cemetery
Take 377 south out of Brownwood. Turn left (east) on FM 502, go thru Mercury about a mile or so and turn right (north) on FM 1028. Go a few miles and there will be a sign (Historical Marker/Historical Cemetery) sign used to say "Cowboy Cemetery" but was stolen all of the time. Everytime they put up a new one it was stolen. One is in Hard 8 BBQ in Stephenville, Texas. Go about 3/4 mile. Cemetery on right.
