|Rochelle Staten||Thank you!|
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you kindly. You have literally photographed my entire Davis Family left in the Zion Cemetery in Farmerville, Louisiana. We always "intend" to get there and do it ourselves but you have done the dirty work for us. Thanks again for all that you do. Rochelle Staten

Thank you for the picture of Mrs. Jones's Headstone. I will let the family know that this is now on the site. It certainly does complete the site, I believe. A picture of her as well as of her Headstone. I agree with your sentiment that findagrave is a way to keep the memory of our relatives. I am glad that so many people enjoy doing this.

I just sent you an email requesting correction on Glen Post, Jr. #31437598 and Mary Turbeville Post #142827371.
They are NOT buried the Port Union Cemetery; FAR from it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to fulfill my request for the photos of the headstones for both Louis and Alice Hollinger in the Arlington Cemetery.
I have many relatives buried in the cemeteries in El Dorado. My 2nd great grandfather brought his family there in the early 1850's. His name was William Chandler. He owned what once was Chandler's Tavern at the northwest corner of Main St and Washington across from the old courthouse. It was a hotel with 22 rooms and a bar. During the Civil War he was called to act as a substitute sheriff while the younger men went to fight in the war. Several prominent older men including my grandfather were given a smallpox vaccine that a soldier had brought home for his parents. His parents had already been given a vaccine and didn't need it. The vaccine that the soldier brought home had become rancid due to the lack of refrigeration and all but one man died from it. My grandfather was the first to go. My grandmother, Sarah Melissa Prime Chandler, continued to run the hotel for several years. She sold it to the Armstrong family and the name was changed to the Armstrong Hotel. William Chandler is buried in the Old Presbyterian Cemetery and my grandmother is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
I'm sorry that I've rambled on but I love the history of El Dorado.
Thanks again for the photos.

Concerning the memorial for John Scott, I'm very curious if you're related to him. I have a John Scott who is my 3rd great-grandfather. He died in Yell County in the first decade of the 20th century. My mother's first cousin Mary has left flowers on his memorial, in her note she states that there's no marker. I'm just trying to figure out if this John Scott is my 3rd great-grandfather.
Thank you for all your contributions here!
