RE: Hi!
Dear Caroline:

Will go through your list and try to match up monuments that are illegible with what you have. While I have no doubts these people are buried there, I'm just having trouble with matching headstones to names. Many of the markers are in such bad shape that they have become unreadable. I'm afraid I'm a very cautious person. I like to make sure of my facts before I list someone. Most of the markers of the Henry's (which is why I went out there in the first place) have been replaced by family members over time. There is a whole section of Goudy's in the back corner. But I could only be certain of 2 of the names on them. Still, between your list and what I've found, we should have a complete a listing as possible for this particular cemetery.

Sincerely,

thechief1963

George and Margaret Knorr
I submitted a pic of George and Margarets grave, its ugly (offcenter). My camera died as I tried to refocus. Reenter the request and I or another will reshoot, at least you can gather some of the info. Bill

Knorr Photo Requests
I went to St. Michaels looking for your photo requests and I found several Knorrs. I'm actually not sure whether or not I found any of the ones that you requested. It is a very large cemetery, and the sections are not marked, so I just got out and walked a couple of sections. I have no doubt that there are more there, I just didn't find them yet.

I found:
Catherine 1896 - 1961
Mary 1899-1974
Louise 1886-1919
George J 1884-1943
Joseph G 1906-1982
Marie M 1904-1999
Beatrice 1912-89
Rita 1916-2009
Agnes 1904-70
Caroline 1878-1956
John 1877-1961
Joseph M 1877-1970
Anna M 1883-1963
Marie C 1908-1963

I'd be happy to send you pics of their markers if you want. If you want to create memorials for any of them I'd be happy to add their pics to the memorials. Just let me know. Thanks.

Martin Gross
Hello, My great-grandmother's maiden name was Gross. She married George Yeckel and they lived on Watcher St. in Pittsburgh. Her was Madeline. She is supposed to be buried in Birmingham. I went to Pittsburgh to find her grave but no one would answer the door at the office. Is she possibly a relation to Martin?

Thank you ....Dianne

The Hartmans at MBS
We recently visited the cemetery and museum at MBS and looked for many of the F.A.G. requests as well as our relatives. According the the parish records, Michael and Magdalen were buried in the old cemetery (behind the chapel). In 2000, the church historian photographed all of the remaining gravestones in the old cemetery, regardless of condition. He did not find a stone for either of them among those that were readable. The photos he took are in an album at the museum. I posted a photo showing a part of the old cemetery to each memorial. If this is satisfactory, you should remove the photo request.

RE: Hi!
I think there might have been a Robert Thrailkill there, I was kind of in a hurry and did not photograph all the Thrailkills. I'll try to make it back out there soon.--Carol Agnew Black.

RE: Hello!!
Wish that I could've helped more. I went there on a whim last weekend, as I had some time to kill before visiting family and pretty much went through and took pictures of anyone I could find with the last name of McCarty, Kohl, and a few Bucks.

If I get back down to PA this fall, I'll try to get back there. hopefully then I'll have a better idea of who I am looking for, and I'll try and find your other requests.

I looked at your profile & I see the Hartman's that you want pictures of I know the person that takes care of the records for MBSC I asked him to check to see if he has birth dates for you on them. Maybe thursday I can go over there to see if I can find them for you, cause ther are other people I need to find in there too.

George McDonald Yandle
Yes, Caroline, I am a Yandle through marriage to Steven Yandle. When I looked at my Yandle database, I only have George's name and no other information for him. I did a little research yesterday on him. What is it that you are wanting to know about him? How do you relate to George McDonald Yandle?

RE: Thank you...
I think it is wonderful that a 14 year old is interested in his family. I wish that i had been interested at that age when i had grandparents alive to tell me things that i didnt know. Unfortunately i waited until my mama and grandparents on both sides were deceased before i got interested, after i was 50 years old.I also found a picture of a house that was suppose to be effie ella surrat yandles home. I found it on ancestry.com.

RE: Question..
This is what I have found out so far. According to Jessie Yandle Wrights obit. her mother was Effie Ella Surrat and she died at 25 years old and is buried at Olympia cemetery in Columbia. Her daddy then married Jessie Mae Cooper. The obit. is on the memorial for Jessie Yandle Wright.

RE: Question..
Jessie Yandle married my grandfathers younger brother Walter Wright. One of their sons goes to church with me, I will certainly ask him these questions the next time i see him and will get back with you.

Louise Price Newman
Hi Caroline, I am not a member of Ancestory.com as yet. I am going on vacation the middle of this month and intend on signing up when I get home. I am the great-granddaughter of Arjalon and Deborah (Johnson). I have a lot of information on the Newman's but lost the link after Thomas left Virginia. There is a lot written on his half-brother Lewis Steenrod, but not much on him. Great grand-father Arjalon moved around a lot but I was able to keep track of his life through living family members. I found information on the Price family in the US Census 1850, and I know that Arjalon and Alice were married in New Matamoras. My name is Kathleen Evans and I live in Kelowna, BC Canada. My email address is kevans_home@yahoo.ca

Alexander is my ggg grandfather too. By his son William Alexander Newman, then his son Jesse Lantz Newman.
I wish I had a picture of him, but don't and am surprised I can't find any since he was a congressman and all.

RE: Picture
Photographs were very rare prior to the 1850s...there might be a possibility that someone did a portrait (painting) but stuff like that was more available to those with the money to do it
