John Robert Thompson (#65447327)

I found another death certificate for John Robert Thompson. It list his parents as William J & Mary Permenter Thompson. I can send you a copy of the D/C.

RE: Riley Covington Cemetery
Sandy, a pure streak of luck but I found Hugh Archie McDonald buried in the Riley Covington Cemetery in Rockingham and it appears the memorial was created by you. I will cancel the memorials I created in the Benjamin Covington Cemetery.

Thanks for your help,
Steve Hinds

RE: Benjamin Covington Cemetery
I apologize for the McDonald's photo request as I was unaware of multiple Covington Cemeteries in the Rockingham area. I wonder why their Death Certificate would indicate burial in a Covington Cemetery in Rockingham if they are not listed on the Master Index that you mentioned?

Benjamin Covington Cemetery
Sandy, thanks very much for taking the time to try to find the headstones for Myrtle McDonald, Rebecca McDonald, and Hugh McDonald. My request was based on each of their Death Certificates indicating that they were buried in Covington Cemetery in Rockingham, N.C. I apologize that I may have sent you on a "wild goose chase" on these headstones.

Thanks for your help!
Steve Hinds

RE: Lizzie Brookshire
Thank you. The info I have on a Lizzie Brookshire is SO close, but the funeral record says "col" by her name. Was hoping that was her. Darn.

RE: Hello
Thank you for your efforts of finding the identities of the folks inside the great falls Cemetery. That helps to explain why some of my relatives and others are inside the east side cemetery, but are not listed as being buried there. They however are listed as being buried in the great falls cemetery. I have checked the records of the east side cemetery with the record of deeds of Richmond County and they are not listed as being in the east side cemetery, nor do they have any records of the stones or the folks ever being moved there. They indicated to me that they weren't aware of the great falls cemetery even being there. Could you possibly verify for a fact the stones were moved there and the person who moved them there and maybe where they placed them inside the east side cemetery?

You're very welcome! It was my pleasure. I hope to get a better picture soon. His marker is currently under an overgrown bush.

Just wondering if you have a photo of the Great Falls Cemetery. Is there a list of the stones moved to the Eastside Cemetery that you know of im reasearching the Benoist family of Richmond County, it appears Moses P. McKinnon is in the Great Falls Cemetery and his wife Annie Benoist McKinnon is in the Eastside Cemetery just wondered if her stone was moved to that cemetery from the Great Falls site.

I'm working on a volume of grave locations for veterans of Co. L, 22nd NC Infantry. Could I have your permission to use the picture you posted of Moses Harris Russell's grave in this compilation? I will cite you as the source.

Thank you.

Oh. I didn't notice you created his Memorial. I would like any family to see it. I think I have posted everything that I have found out in the photos and captions. I created a Virtual cemetery for the 4 airmen. I don't how that works but can you see that from Capps memorial page? If not, go to my Profile and look at: Training Accident - Lexington, MS - June 23, 1944. I have more details on the survivor but someone told me not to put negative info on FindaGrave. I just feel like he was the one who caused the fatal collision based upon what later happened to him. I don't think I have anything else on Capps. I can summarize the news article and send it to you.

RE: Clyde Capps 98186099
I posted photos on Clyde Capps site but I don't recall if I sent a suggestion for changes to the text. I can't change it---the owner of his grave has to approve or make any changes. I created a Virtual Cemetery for the 4 airmen who were involved in the accident. The lone survivor was eventually dishonorable discharged from the Army because of a stunt he did 4 months later.

Memorial# 28641221 John D. Caviness
Hi Sandy,
First I want to thank you for taking the time to photograph a grave for me. However, I believe this is the father's stone since he served in WWII. My memorial is for John born in 1952. Please check and let me know if you add a memorial for the father(?).

John Caviness #28641221
I believe the wrong marker is posted for this memorial:
This John Caviness was born in 1953 so he couldn't have been a WWII veteran. Please double check.

In reply to:
On this memorial, for William Thompson, on the list of siblings, he is listed again. should this be listed again?
No Idea, didn't have a thing to do with this sibling thing. Matter of fact it kind of intimidates me. It confuses me as well.

RE: Northam Cemetery
Yes. I think you mentioned a foiling method that you use to read the time-worn ones so as not to further damage the stones. I didn't know about that method at the time I was working my way through, so the illegible ones have not been photographed by me.
