Glad you like the picture. We use a reflector when the sunlight is good, to get as much detail in the picture as possible. It beats a flat picture with a transcription. This way you can read it yourself. All the best! Bill and April

Hi Virginia,

Thanks for the info about MOCA, I had been on their site before but did not find much. Went back and saw that they have their records kept at the Maine State Library. Went in a got all sorts of info. Now just need to find to key it all in.

Thanks,
Sally

I'm not related. I was, at one time, the research aid for the Whatcom Geneological Society and I collected thousands of obits that I am now posting on find-a-grave.

Do you live locally? I think that Copley is going to have a ceremony some time in the Fall. I can let you know, if you give me your contact info. We will be looking for descendants of these men and asking them to attend.

It hasn't been placed yet. My chapter of Daughters of 1812 received a grant from Summit Co. to purchase grave markers for the veterans of 1812 in unmarked graves. These have just been engraved and photographed and not yet placed.

I re-took the photos today. Hope you like the improvements. Can you link Catherine to Carlyle?

RE: Info on Catherine & Carlyle Bouges
Virginia,

Yes you can add or edit anything in the memorial since you created it. As for Carlyle's you need to ask the person who created it to transfer management to you if you are a direct ancestor of his. Otherwise, open his memorial, and you will see a tab on the upper right named EDIT. Click on the tab and ask the person to add or modify information.

Info on Catherine & Carlyle Bouges
Virginia,

I used my ancestry.com account to do a little searching. Did not find her maiden name.

Carlyle was born in Weeks Mills in Kennebec County, Maine according to his WWI draft registration. He signed his name Boggs on that 1917 registration form. At that time he worked as a shipyard worker for the Texas Steamship Company in Bath, Maine. He was the son of Ambrose E Boggs and Carrie Inez Reeves (her second marriage).

According to his birth certificate, he was born in Whitefield, ME.

The 1910 census has him living with his mother, Carrie who has remarried to someone Charles D Jones. Carlyle is identified as the stepson to Charles Jones. I can find no further information on Ambrose, although he appears in the 1900 census.

I could not find the 1920 census and the 1930 census seems to list his name as Bouges, but the handwriting is fuzzy.

According to the 1940 census, he and his wife lived in Portland, ME and he owned a grocery store. Their name was Bouges. They had 3 children Merle E born abt 1925 in Massachusetts, Frank H born abt 1926 in Maine, and Audrey born abt 1929 in Massachusetts.

Good luck on further research.

RE: Catherine Bouges
Virginia,

I cannot see a separate memorial for Catherine. That is what I am looking for. Do you know the number of her memorial?

If not, please create a new memorial for her alone, and you can then link it to Carlyle's. As I understand the rules of findagrave.com, I cannot add someone else's photo to an existing memorial. In other words, a husband and wife need to each have their own separate memorial.

If you have never created a memorial before, it is quite easy. Just go to Brooklawn cemetery, click on add a new name, and just follow the steps adding whatever information you know. According to her marker, she was born Jan 15, 1908 and died Jan 19, 1998. She is interred in Section W, Plot, 662, A-1. Let me know when you have done this. If you remain puzzled, let me know. My direct email is peterloon6@aol.com

Catherine Bouges
Hi Virginia,

I fulfilled your photo request for Carlyle Bouges. Next to his marker was one for Catherine M. Bouges (Jan. 15, 1906-Jan. 19, 1998). I took a photo of her marker, so if you create a memorial, let me know and I will upload the photo. Additionally, there was a fair amount of water on both markers, so I plan to take additional photos when the ground is drier.

RE: charles lowell.
Thankful (Dow) was the wife of Charles Lowell who was born 1791. He was the son of Jacob & Jane (McFadden) Lowell. Charles & Thankful were married on February 25, 1827. They had a son, Charles Lowell who was born in 1832. Trust this is helpful.

Floyd & Bertha
Floyd's pic is already up and I do not think that there is a stone for Bertha. I finished photographing the entire cemetery last year and I do not see Bertha in the section she is listed in. I will double check this weekend sometime, if I can get over there.

To delete a duplicate memorial, you just need to go into and in the top right corner of the memorial itself there should be a tab that says "delete".

Oakhill Merimac Cem WI
I dont think I have taken any from there but if you want I can go there. It's about 30 miles from my home but I have gone farther than that for people before. I don't know which way this cem faces, if it happens to be on the N slope or lays in the shade you may have to wait a month or so for the last of the snow to melt. If you have a long list of names just email it to me, I dont care if you make a request.
