RE: Calogero Graffeo
Thanks so much for the information on the news articles
about the Birmingham Ax Murders.

I was also able to find several news articles about his
1923 murder in about 7-8 different newspapers across
the country. There were really only 2 different versions
of text between them, but it was still interesting to find.

Thanks again.

Calogero Graffeo
You left a note for Calogero (Charles) Graffeo,
Memorial# 81868922 that he was murdered at his
store on 28 May 1923 as a result of a 4 year crime spree leaving 18 dead.

I was wondering if you have his obituary or news articles
relating to his murder and / or the crime spree that you would be willing to share?

He is the great uncle of my brother-in-law.

Roger, I think you have the correct location. There were few, if any, markers in this lot. I suspect that Dr.Chew's grave is unmarked. David

I was an altar boy to Father Herman Cazalas over 60 years ago. Would you consider transferring his memorial to me? Thanks.

RE: Crumly Chapel Millers
You are very welcome :) I saw some of mine from back when I started and the size limit was so small. I was back on the Gulf Coast and sadly, cannot get back there and retake them. I have requests out to have them redone lol! Crumly Chapel is gorgeous :)

Roger, I have what I hope is one last request to transfer this memorial to write a bio. It is quite strange. He was at St. Catherine's also. Thanks Shirley Butler # 47495709

Roger, thank you!!!! Glad you got some results. To me it's always best if the family members manage the memorials. You should come to the cemetery Sat during cleanup! Would love to meet you. Again, thanks for all your hard work. I appreciate it.

Bessiere markers
Leigh Ann is the one I think, that made these pics, so I would ask her to transfer the memorials to you, and explain that they are relatives. Martha Roberts Lambert Foley was my great great grandmother. There are some other Roberts buried there. Are you related to them? Why don't you e-mail me at and we will chat. Thanks again.

Roger, you were so sweet to transfer Father Sullivan to me. I have more priests I would like you to transfer, but feel really bad asking you after you made the pics. I haven't had time to write the bio on him yet because I have been busy trying to find the rest of the priests and sisters. You know if you don't enter their names just right,it makes them difficult to find. The ones I would like transferred are:#64252479,#64275920,#64273668,#64274907. I have some bio's on all of them. Again, I understand if you don't want to transfer them. I just like to have something personal on the ones I have, if possible. Thanks, Shirley #47495709 If you live in Birmingham, you should come to our cleanup day this coming Sat. at 9 or anytime thereafter. This girl named Leigh Ann has added most of the find a grave memorials in Fraternal Cemetery in Pratt City. I added quite a few myself before I had brain surgery last year, and had to quit for awhile, but am ok now, except for being old!lol. The markers there are quite unique. If you want further information about the cleanupe-mail me at All of these priests I am adding served at St. Catherine's at one time or another. Shirley PS I have maternal family members buried there also.
