Finally FAG responded
After several ties and a long wait for any answer, Find A Grave finally transferred a memorial for an Aunt to me. It was one of those memorials made by "silentangel" who would never answer any Edit or Public mail and had no other way to be contacted.

Memorial 41252046
You asked me to give you information on the memorial you had asked silentangel to transfer to you. It was for your uncle Charles McMclean and your request was dated 4-19-16. Did you get the transfer?

Your request for a transfer
I read a Public Message you left for silentangel to transfer a memorial to you. Other people have sent her messages to correct errors she has made. Since 2014 I have been waiting for a transfer or even a reply without receiving either. Other people have been having the same problem. I suspect she could be deceased or in a nursing home somewhere. I would be interested in knowing if you got the transfer you requested. Contacting Find A Grave to check out this person has also resulted in no reply. I just found a memorial that I made for a relative merged with one that she made including family pictures. I don't know how this merger happened but now this person who does not have any connection to my relative has obtained family pictures and information.

Daniel McLean
Updated pictures for the other McLeans. Headstones are now cleaned and looking very nice. The landscape is beautiful. Nice and peaceful place. Now the bad news...No Daniel :(. There are no records at the church itself. Don't lose hope fellow genealogist :) I live right next to the city's genealogy library. I will go tomorrow. Wish me luck! My email should be on my page if there are any more details that may help me while I am there.

RE: Daniel McLean at St. Joseph
I live only a mile away. I will be happy to do some more digging. St. Joseph is connected to another cemetery (Forest). The two are not really separated by anything and the two together are HUGE! I am sure they are in there somewhere but driving around the cemetery I could not see any McLeans on the outsides but there are tens of dozens in each section. I will go back this weekend to see what I can find. Just as well, it was raining while I was there today, you wouldn't have received a good picture anyways :)

Turner cemetery
We found a Mary..went back to Turner cemetery, and the man who lives near there told us where more graves are. Was overgrown in the summer. I think it could be your Mary Blaney..can't read most of it. I will post, if you don't think it is her I will remove on your request..Connie :)

RE: William Blaney
you are welcome. If you look at the other request at that cemetery, I posted a couple pictures that I took, mainly open field behind someones property. The driveway in was a steep, overgrown lane...barely fit our vehicle in. Sorry...

Rowley's
Hello Dave. I have the pictures that you need for the Rowley's that you have listed in Duncombe Catholic Cemetery (Duncombe, Webster, Iowa). I did not locate their stones in this cemetery. They are located in Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe. Thanks!! Cathy :)

My husband and I were at Godfrey Cemetery today trying to fulfill photo requests. I believe that your cousin was probably in a home called Beverly Farm. (I work there!) It is a home for the developementally disabled and has been around since the 1800s. I noticed some of the Beverly Farm folks were buried in one section there though I didn't pay attention to the name of your cousin. Beverly Farm used to raise children but now only takes adults.
We have to go back tomorrow so I will take another look.
Beverly Farm used to be a working farm. It now has ten cottages and six group homes for the care of the developementally disabled. Hope this helps.

You're welcome. I was just doing a little research and may have a little more info on them. Go to www.nobleco.lib.in.us and click on genealogy and then Whan and collection. I found a Jacob Hornet(t) that died 12-4-1911 there and on deaths, I also found a Catherine Hornet(t). born 9-25-1835 and died 8-3-1928. These may be you're people. Barb

RE: Godfrey Cemetery Question
There is a large headstone with 20 names on it, including Roger McBratney. The names are all on one side and I never checked the other side. Next time I go to this cemetery, I will check it out. If this Roger McBratney is your relative, he died in 2004,and there should be a newspaper record of his death.

RE: Thank You!
Two new photos added today. Don't know if they are greatly better, but the stone is in very bad shape. It is a bit wobbly on the base.

Yes I have used the sidewalk chalk on some, but know it is not really "approved" so to speak for the hardcore gravestone recorders. Have not had great luck with the rubbing technique. Shaving foam is another possibility. I will try a couple of these on the Harnett stone and see if I can get any better reading for you.

RE: Thank You!
Yes, the two close up photos are from two separate sides of the stone. It is pretty badly weathered all around. These photos were taken a couple of years ago when I photographed the entire cemetery. I will see if there is some way to get an enhanced picture of the detail of the stone.
