RE: John Morey grave photos
You are welcome. I don't know how folks will feel about showing an unmarked grave (as very many are), but for me, I would be happy to know/see a final resting place. Bob

Hello, Laurie,

Thanks for the "flower" and note on my uncle's F/A/G memorial.

Sounds like you're a fellow Creighton alum. Didn't we have a basketball team a year ago?

Have an awesome day,
Bill Bates

Peter Wysocki
Hi Laurie,

I had a chance to visit the library for obits. I'll be transferring Peter shortly. I'm adding names to Oakwood Cemetery consistently (over 1500 so far) and other Trumbull Co. Cemeteries. If you see any other "rellies' under my management, don't hesitate to ask for a transfer.

P.S. Don't forget to give your Contributor # at the time of request.

Regards, Neal Gardner

Transferred Edna to you, since I placed her obit on her page. Peter will be transferred in a few days. Neal

Hi Laurie,

I'll be happy to transfer your grandparents. First, I'd like to retrieve their obits to the pages; then you can edit any way you like. Will probably transfer Tue or Wed. Regards, Neal

RE: John Jacob Morey
Hi Laurie
I am kind of far removed from him. He was the husband of 4th cousin 2x removed Zora Wright. I was told that John Jacob Morey was cremated and the urn with his ashes was buried but without a stone. The urn is buried in Section C, Lot 923, Grave 71. The searcher that look asked that I keep the request so someone else didn't research for the stone. I can remove the request if you want.

Geoffrey Williams
Morey YDNA I2b
Dear Laurie,

No. I do not have these lineages of Roger Morey and George Morey on the web. Instead they are shared amongst the Morey researchers on the Morey Forum. There are too many mistakes on the web, unable to be removed.

Have you contacted Kevin Morey in Georgia?

Roger Lee Morey of 425 Tigerlily Lane, Oakland, Douglas, OR, USA Zip 97462-9761 is the KLN RI George Morey with the YDNA I2b.

He is 28 generations removed from Thomas Kevin Morey 121 Greer Lane, Albany, Dougherty, GA, USA Zip 31707-1201 KLN Kesiah Atkinson, who is 7 generations from a common ancestor with George Allen Morey born 27 Apr 1935 Brockport, Elk, PA, USA, who is KLN RI Roger.

So you see KLN RI George is pretty distant from KLN RI Roger, but not as distant as Christopher John Morry born in Newfoundland of KLN English Maunder who is 35 generations at the moment to a common ancestor with Thomas Kevin Morey.

It will be good to see if your father of KLN RI Ezekiel is closer to KLN RI Roger or KLN RI George. 35 generations is about 1125. The ancestors at this time may not have been in England, but in a Southern European area from where YDNA I2b is proving to come. The fact so many Moreys go back this far is amazing. It shows too the Mowry of New England were really Morey, which I already knew anyway. And Morry in Newfoundland was Morey in South Hams, Devon.

Kind regards, Geoffrey

Morey YDNA I2b
Dear Laurie

Today, I proved KLN RI George is also YDNA I2b along with KLN RI Roger, which makes 90% of American Moreys are genetically related. How are you getting on with your father's YDNA?

Kind regards, Geoffrey

Ezekiel Morey
Dear Laurie

Email Kevin Morey moreytk at and ask him about how it is done. One pays money, gets a kit in the mail, takes a swab from ones mouth and posts it away. The test is soon done and Kevin Morey will tell you the rest.

Kind regards, Geoffrey

Ezekiel Morey
Dear Laurie,

Yes I remember now. We cannot work out his father.

We have Morey men getting their YDNA tested. Three separate Morey clans genealogically are genetically linked by a quite rare I2b gene.

One of these men is KLN RI Roger. Roger Morey was from Drimpton, Dorset, England early 1600s.

Another is KLN English Maunder from South Hams, Devon, England in the mid 1500s.

The third is KLN Kesiah Atkinson, found in Georgia early 1880s.

Mutations on the YDNA are fairly constant and one can see how many generations there are back to the common Morey ancestor.

Is there a KLN RI Ezekiel male Morey you know who would participate in this study?

Kind regards, Geoffrey

Dear Laurie

Do you know your Morey line back to Ezekiel Morey, of Rhode Island who moved to Deer Isle, Hancock, ME, USA?

RE: Augustus Noland photo request
Hi Laurie. Yes please that would be great if you can take pictures of Augustus and Ethel Marie Noland and their son Gus, thank you. Ethel's maiden name is Heidt, that's the connection to my family. We were going to hold off on one for Michael Noland because we knew he has living children but if you know any of the family and they wouldn't mind, we would do one on him. We just always check with children of cousins before doing memorials and if we can't find their children don't do one unless it's pretty clear they have no living children on the off chance that the children may not want an on line memorial. Thanks a lot for your help with these. :)

RE: Theis photos
Oh.. I'm so happy to know that there were headstones for the Theises after all. Thank you for passing that piece of information on and for posting the nice photos too. As for the mysterious Peggy Ann Buckman, now I'm curious too. Will have to ask my cousin what she knows. Thank you for the extra information, Laurie!

Hi Laurie
Hi again, Laurie..
Oh! Thank you so much for the very complete information of the Theis family! :-O What could have happened to the double headstone?! That's sad! I wonder if the cemetery is storing it somewhere?
Thank you also for the Willis Theis info. I'll go ahead and make a memorial and then make a photo request as soon as I'm allowed again if you would be kind enough to add your photo.
Thank you so much for your help.
Warmest regards,
Chloe Perdew
P.S. I LOVE YOUR YELLOW CAR! What IS that?? I bet you get a lot of attention!

Hi Laurie
Hi Laurie..
Thank you for attempting to get the photos of the Theis headstones. What a shame they dont have a headstone to photograph! (What does the plastic cemetery marker look like?) -And yes, I would appreciate photos taken of what the area looks like where they are buried, even if there is no marker.
Also, I would like to create a memorial for their son, Willis. Can you tell me what info. is on the headstone to help me do that?
Thank you for your help, Laurie!
