RE: Catharine Hunt Dufield
It's been so long since I was out there - I had to look it up. I just want to be sure that each person gets chronicled on Find A Grave - yours was much more complete. Keep up the good work!

your memorial is much more complete
There will be a lot less work involved in just deleting my Catharine Hunt Dufield memorial! Best of luck with your endeavors!

RE: The Collins Book
John-

I have bumped into the post you mention here several times : http://genforum.genealogy.com/collins/messages/14885.html

At first it gave me a headache as did The Collins Book. I have not been able to read through the whole book yet as my computer seems to only want to open parts of it at a time. The first three pages are enough to get my attention! I will send you an email so that we can take this conversation there and share more notes regarding the family. I look forward to talking with you more, so that we can make some progress here. Check your inbox "Collins" is the subject line.

RE: Catharine, dau of Edmund Collins
I am not positive of that just yet but, I think she might be. I am also connected to Edmund by his daughter Fanton or Frances who married Philip Cleland Kenton / son of William Kenton / nephew of Simon. What can you tell me about this confusing family? Have you ever read the Collins Book? I can't seem to get it to open for me all of the time but, the link is here:

http://www.kithandkinofthesouth.org/uploads/2/6/2/1/2621480/the_collins_book_-_joseph__collins__lucy_marchbanks_-_their_descendants.pdf

I think this researcher may have been on to something!

Thank you for the reply Jon-I think this is going to be a big help. Do you have any information on a date of death for Edmund? Also-do you know anything about the Barbee family?

Do you have a source for her parents being listed as Elizabeth and Edmund Collins and do you know anything more about this Collins family? Thanks in advance for your response.

I am sorry for not responding to your updates. There was a death in the family, and some of the messages fell through the cracks. I transferred one of the memorials for which you had kindly transcribed the tombstone. Thank you!

RE: Asa Bridgman, d. 6 Aug 1817
You are welcome for the photo! I think the additional information that you posted is very helpful.

You may have noticed that I have also added photos for Mary Cheadel Bridgman and Harmony Downer Bridgman. I also sent transcriptions of the text on the marker as I thought parts of it were rather hard to read, but if you found it redundant, I understand. If, however, that information did not come through, and you would like it, please let me know.

You may be interested to know that the tall family monument includes the names of all the children, but those sides of the monument are badly streaked and did not photograph well. (I will try again. Maybe different lighting will help.)

There are also small, individual stones--apparently for each family member. Four of them, however, are worn blank. The remaining ones just say, "Father," "Mother," and "Laura."

Please let me know if you have any questions. I just mean for this to be fyi.

Best wishes.

RE: Cara Knott
Hi John,

Thanks for the quick response.

Cara was originally interred at Glen Abbey but was dis-interred and re-interred at Singing Hills. She is next to her father, Sam.

Garman
Okay I found this

(((QUOTED Samuel I had a hard time placing who he was because I kept reading his stone as Carman.))))

There name fell under GORMAN

Elizabeth is in reserve no stone there.( Her name may be Corman/Gorman/Garman I have no Idea.

Mrs Ella sect C 148 no stone there.
and Samuel Sect C 148. with a CW Stone

This was in the Fairview Book of burials
I looked for his Civil war records to be sure this was his family and also the Census.
I hope this helps you out.

Garman's
Hi John
Thanks for the info on this family I was wondering if also Samuels wife is with him with no stone. Which may be Ella Garman on the same plot. Also there was a John Garman buried here in Fairview but he was removed to Rose Hill Cemetery on 5/3/1917 this may also be a connection to this family. Samuel I had a hard time placing who he was because I kept reading his stone as Carman. Now I can't remember what name he falls under in the book but I will keep a eye open on this. Thanks again for the info you have found on this family.

Good luck on your search
Annie

Thanks for helping me add more on the Smiths. Levi Culver Smith brother to your Sarah was my GGG grandfather. I take it you were Sarah descendant. I linked their mother to her parents too.
