ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one entombed there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

RE: Susan Duvall
I had checked on this grave a couple of weeks ago and was pretty sure it was unmarked. So yesterday I was in the cemetery office and looked at the plat book for Section A Lot 79 to get the names of nearby graves to be sure this was the case. As far as I could tell, there was just one stone with the names of family members. They are:

James Robinson 1838-1873
Helen Duval Robinson 1861-1901
Barsine Duval Robinson 1840-1911

I have a photo of this stone. Also, I have a digital image of the plat book for Lot 79 where all the names of those buried there are recorded. I could send that to you if you'd like to see it; just let me know the best email address.

Sorry for the delay in answering your querie. I have distant Duvall family but I am not directly related to any family members in DC.

I own some Maryland books (including Mareen Duvall of Middle Plantation) and would be happy to look up information if it would help.

Mrs. Self photo
Thank you so much for taking the time to photograph Sarah "Sally" Willoughby Self's tombstone! It filled in a gap in the tombstones for the siblings for me. I appreciate it so much.

Interesting that it said on the obit that she died at "Salvation Army Headquarters". Kind of sad . . .

Again, thanks.

Thanks, Don, for the biographical information.

The monument is in the SW corner of the cemetery. Front/left if you stand on the road looking at the cemetery. Maybe three or four rows back at the far left. You can spot it from road.

I found the Aldermans! Yes, they were at Hartsgrove, near the ravine that runs next to the cemetery. It's impossible to read the Alderman name so I'm glad you had a description. The children are listed around the base. I can email these or hold them until memorials are created. You're choice. What I could read is: Milan - Died Dec 10 1860 - Aged 8(?) yrs: Verona - Died Oct 2 1856 - Aged 6 yrs: Pruda - Died Apr 10 1860 - Aged 4 yrs.

Thank You, Don, but really not looking for any transfers. Only if it helps you. The links and additions are more than enough. Yes, they are family, but I am not one to collect. Deeply appreciate what you have done.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. I never knew my great grandfather and my mother, his granddaughter never knew him either. As odd as it sounds, this provides a connection to him. Thank you!
