Ed Hightower
James E. Strickland Riverview
James E. Strickland shares a double marker at Riverview with one Marian C. Strickland. That "likely" means she was his wife. I have not linked the two however as I was not completely sure and no family member had made the request. I have added photos for James and Marian. Hope that helps. If you need them linked let me know.

Susan SKINNER Belkanp token
Hello, in autumn of 2010, you left a token for this woman, a G3GM of mine. I only just realized that it's a duplicate of a memorial I created earlier on, so I am deleting it. >_<

I don't know if you meant to leave a token specifically for this woman or was just surfing through, so for your information, this is her memorial that's staying in case you have a specific interest in her:

All the best, J

Charles, as you did not state a relationship, I'll retain management but, as always, I am more than happy to make any additions/corrections you'd care to submit.

Yankee Magnolia
Emory G. Loggins III
I received a correction from Charles Strickland advising that the photo recently added shows a death date of 1999. That is the death date for E. Gilbert Loggins who must be the father. I believe you have incorrectly linked Emory's mother to him as his spouse. E. Gilbert Loggins should have his own memorial linking him to his spouse. Once you have done this please let me know. I can then link Emory III to his parents.
Thank you.

Jan Bos from Nijmegen, Holland
Pfc James C. Conklin
Pfc James C. Conklin was a paratrooper of Headquarters/Headquarters Company 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. It was 11 July 1943.

The C-47 he and others were in was shot down by friendly fire. The plane crashed into the Mediterranean Sea. No trace was ever found of the plane, the crew or the paratroopers on board.

The plane was a C-47 tailnumber 42-68720 of the 316th Troop Carrier Group.

Pfc James C. Conklin's body was never found and his name is listed on the Wall of Missing of the Sicily Rome Cemetery in Nettuno (Italy).

If his remains would have been recovered, he would have been buried in the temporary GELA cemetery in Sicily.

I am writing a book about the GELA cemetery, where over 1,200 men and women were buried between 1943 and 1947. Hope to finished the book next year July 2013.

One chapter of the book will deal about those whose remains were never accounted for.

Can I have your permission to use the picture you took of the remembrance marker in my book, of course you will be credited and notified when the book is finished.

thank you
