Elizabeth Jane Bailey Stanley
Hi Terry,
I have most of the same information about the extra children. I have not really tried to sort it out. However, I do have Fleming and Elizabeth getting a divorce in 1855 and Fleming not being around to contest it. So it is a good bet that any kids born after that date were not his. I believe he was in Virginia and possibly even in the army ( I've only one source on the army so not real sure on that). I am not easily shocked after 22 years in the USMC.
I really appreciate you letting me have the memorials. I won't change anything I will just add to it. You have done good work and I hope to add to it. Thanks you.

Fleming Stanley
Hi Terry, Fleming Stanley is my 3x great grandfather. He did die during the Civil War of disease at a Richmond hospital. He was in Company B 24th Virginia Infantry. You may use this info, I could not figure out how to post this on his memorial site you fixed up for him. Thanks much.

Thomas Langley
Hi,
There is already a photo for Thomas Langley's marker. His wife. Dorothy Langley, born Aug. 16, 1947, has a marker next to his, but the death date is not filled in, so assume she is still living.

Myrtle Combs
Terry I just found the email that was sent to me regarding Myrtle Combs. I hope I posted these edits. I never question an edit that you send. I know you do your research.
If I didn't post it then please let me know.
Thanks.
Spring as always was a bust. Straight from winter to summer it seems. Almost 90 here today and we have actually had a few 90 days already.

Mae Cook Carper # 141772557
Terry, you obviously take pride in your efforts to connect family groups together. I'd like to point our an error in the memorial for Mae Carper. You have attached the correct birth certificate to Mae's memorial, but her parent's names are James Remley Cook and Martha E Price (incorrectly spelled PRISC in Mae's birth record).

You can see Mae in the 1910 and 1920 census with her parents, but more telling is that she was the informant for both parent's deaths. James R Cook died in 1962 and her mother, Martha, died in 1963. Records for both deaths are on file in the West Virginia Archives.
James: http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view.aspx?Id=1343292&Type=Death
Martha: http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view.aspx?Id=1125650&Type=Death

Thanks for taking care of all of our loved ones...whether we knew them personally or not, we all think family counts, don't we?

RE: Re Fielding Phipps
I got Fielding from another graver today - - so will now add lots of stuff to his page... 139839166

and took it upon myself to add Eleanor to the cemetery where her son James is buried - - as she live with him the last couple of census' of her life.... so requested a photo - - if one appears I'll be pleased - but certainly don't expect one.. but mainly can add more "stuff" to our ancestors - - - seems researchers passing by may comment, have additiona, corrections, etc. - - which is fine -- nothing in stone here..

How's your mom - - my sister Connie and I visited her in 2010 - I believe in May - - she was in a nursing home - - pretty confused - - but seemed happy .... which was wonderful...

Re Fielding Phipps
He is buried in (139839166 ) - Phipps Creek Cemetery, Sand Lick, Raleigh County, West Virginia... You might want to delete your "burial unknown"

After Fielding's death ca 1849 - Eleanor married Steel Seth Lafferty (August 5, 1855 in Raleigh County, West Virginia) - - no issue.

She died January 28, 1890 in Pearisburg, Giles County, Virginia ...

Don't know where she is buried - - could be Giles County - - or perhaps one of her children brought her back to Sand Lick also??

The older graves at Sand Lick are not identified - - but they are still burying there... I was there in 2010 - - - had to climb up a really steep hill to find the cemetery - - as I recall it was about 50ft square... Amazing that I made it up the hill - my sister who was with me - - did not make the climb - and once I was up - realized that I did not have my camera with me... Anyway - - as I recall - - and was told by the kid with me - - Fielding's marker is just a rock - real jagged - headstone and foot stone looked about the same ..

My mom Elsie is your mom's sister...

Take care - - Kathy

You are very welcome I was glad I could do it. I personally knew Fred and Fanny. They were one of my uncles parents. David "Butch" Moye is my uncle through marriage. His children are my 1st cousin's. We grew up near Fred and Fanny's home in East Sparta and I still live in East Sparta. When I was you Fanny use to crochet poncho's for my sisters and I. They were both good people. Take care.

RE: Gertrude Curnutte
Hello Terry,

I do know you were just kidding with me, sorry if I gave you the impression that I was taking you seriously, thanks for making the effort to be sure I did. Chuckled when I read the message with "get rude", which hadn't even dawned on me (slow sometime to finger, I mean figure, such things out) and the ridin shotgun. So alls good. Also I'm a little concerned that may be an attack kitty in the photo and I don't want to be its next assignment. :)

RE: Gertrude Curnutte - spelling correction
Terry,

You're welcome.

"I see I have joined this rather non-exclusive group which you ride shotgun on." No, riding shotgun on the contributors is someone else's job, quoting someone I worked with many moons ago "Not my department." You are part of an exclusive group, though Find A Grave is available for anyone to sign-up and contribute, you are part of the group that has done so.

I too hope you are riding the winter out in comfort and life is treating you well also.

Terry, I received a transfer from you for Dora Inez Deck. Maybe you had intended to transfer a different one to me. I can't see where I would have a connection for Dora, so I sent her back to you. Dave Jones

Patricia A Carley Memorial# 109505486
Mr Collins, I originally sent the attached message below to your email, but I am sending it here in case it went to your spam folder.

Mr Collins,
My son-in-law’s cousin (once removed), Patricia A (Miller) Carley is buried at Holly Hill Memorial Garden in Middle River. Her mother, Margaret (Bolewicki) Miller just passed away on 9 Jan & was buried by her mother today. I was adding this information to the family tree while talking to him about the funeral & found your memorial record with the photo. I am writing to you to ask your permission to add your photo to Patsy’s entry in my tree. I would, of course, give you credit.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Pat Richmond

Thank you so much for the obit. I have added it to his memorial per your request.

I am always happy to add obits, and send a lot of obits, asking others to add them, also.

I think they help complete the memorial. I feel like we need to get as much info on these memorials as we can, to help others locate their loved ones.

Have a great day also!
