RE: Tidence Lane
Several years ago my cousin did DNA testing which confirmed our relationship with Tidence Lane. We had hit a brick wall, and it was an awesome piece to add to our history. I'm not aware of any pictures of Tidence, but would love to find one. Welcome to our family history, cousin! Sue Lane-Ward

North Carolina Research
The best collection of cemetery records I have found for North Carolina are in . You can go into the search field and type just a surname [no quotation marks] and it will bring up all of the Alstons in all of the counties. If a cemetery shows up more than once in a search, it probably has multiple pages of listings, so you want to look at all of them.

If you are interested in Wake County you may want to check for old graves in Raleigh.

If I weren't working a million hours of overtime I would jump in there and help you. If you come across a small family cemetery which isn't built into FindaGrave, let me know if you need help building the cemetery.

Jonathon Davis and Sally Ayers
Thank you for the correction. My gg grandmother was Sally Ayers. (and on down) General Marion Ayers, William Perry Ayers, Robert James Ayers and, myself, Deborah Ayers. I do a little Find A Grave and a little Ancestry but I am not a truly serious researcher. I enjoy what I have time to do. Anything you want me to add to the memorials, e-mail to me as you want it and I will cite you.

Hi Andrew!
Hi Andrew, it's just Pugg. I was at Lake Bird today dropping flowers and just wanted to say hello and thanks for all you do for find-a-grave. It was great of you to soponsor Abner Massey, hopefully more descendents from that area will do it. Anyway, thanks again and Cheers, Pugg

RE: Rev. Nathan Langston
Andy, you have provided a wealth of family information, which I will refer to again and again. I am not a decendant of Nathan, but of his sister Nancy and John Bearden, Jr. It was by researching the Revolutionary Soldiers in the Bearden family, that I came upon another Bearden decendant who shared Nathan's information, which I have kept several years.

I don't know if you have traced the Ball family line, but Colonel William Ball III the first of my ancestors to come from England in 1650.He settled in Virginia,in Lancaster County.Do you know whether or not the family line originated in England? There seems to be some seriopus doubt that it did. I appreciate any and all help you may give me.Thank you very much-Shirley Ball

Sandra Bertram Meier
Gadi West
Hello again.... Your story is so amazing to me. There really does need to be a marker placed for your ancestor. The Miliary will create the stone most of the time at no cost. As a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) I would like to work with you and get this done. We do a ceremony to honor Republic of Texas Vets and their families who helped settle Texas prior to 1946. Your family surely qualifies. Please email me at and I will send you information on how to get the ball rolling for the DRT award. It would be great to do this service whenever you and your family get the stone(s) placed. Sandra
