Hello, my mom's sister is Lavon Carlise. I was just wondering how you are related to the Carlises. I just started doing genealogy and I have gotten addicted. Thanks for sharing. Ronda

Feel free to use my pictures in your family tree. Although I took them they are not copyrighted. It is good of you to ask. Many don't. If you think to at the time you might mention that I took the photos. I enjoyed taking the photos because the cemetery setting is so beautiful. The small granite replacement memorials for the original fieldstones are a lovely touch. So many specific grave locations have been lost that it is great to preserve a few. I see this in several cemeteries around the Ozarks and elsewhere.
Enjoy the photos. I hope they make a nice addition to your work. It is people like you that makes sharing so worthwhile.

Yes Sally, feel free to use the photo. Up until a month ago I didn't have any real information on the Nelm's. I have two pages out of Mattie's bible and was able to use that along with rootsweb to locate them. Every one told me to look for Jurd Nelms, but discoverd his name to be Jordan Nelms. I don't have anything past that yet. But I do have a bunch of very old (1900-1910) photos that aren't marked. I'm asumming they are Nelms or Shipp's otherwise my grandmother would have kept them. I will scan them in sometime and send them to you and see if you recognize any of them.
