You might be missing a Hess child for Philip and Hannah Hess. When I found the large family marker there was a Maria (17 days) old listed on the back side of the family marker. I will add the info and images that I took.

Thank you for your message. Did you know Wayne O'Neal (my grandfather) when you were working or did you find that our later? I have many of his records and am slowly putting things on a computer -- something not available when he was digging through family history. I see you name often -- both on Find A Grave and Ancestry. Always glad to see someone who uses care.

Thanks for info. Where are you finding place of birth? There must be a reason I put Greenwood, but I'm not finding that either! Thanks.

|Ralph DiCesare||Hess Family|
I have been doing research for an 8th generation descendant of Johan (Hans) Conradt Hess 19 Aug 1714 New Buck Co., PA.
I stumbled on to your Find a Grave site and was impressed and Thought I would see what I coukd find out about Hess (PA) and my research (WVa), although I realize they all started out in PA.
I am familiar with the John "The Painter' and all The party I am researching for is one Lanis Lewis d/o George William Hess B)1912Monongalia Co., WVa.
Last in this line from PA was Peter(1755), and first I find in WVa is Balzar Hess. Janis Marie Hess would be 5th generation from Balzar.
Well, I was just trying to get a connection between your line and Janis Hess, again impressive info on your site.

I would be happy to transfer him to you. He is not my direct ancestor, but the husband of my 1st cousin's great-grandaunt. I am the keeper of the family history for the Swainstons :-) (My dad's sister married a Swainston.) I transfer outside guidelines and will transfer Ray to you. I will check w/my cousin and see if he'll OK transferring Cora. Would you like her, also?

|Craig Windt||Cyrus Francis Hess|
I'm hoping someone out there may have information or a suggestion of where to look on my mother-in-law's grandfather, Cyrus Francis Hess. He was born 19 January 1880, presumably in Columbia County. In 1904, he married Elizabeth Cole, daughter of Silas Dennison Cole & Susan Connor. They were married in Bloomsburg. At the time of the wedding, Cyrus was listed as living in Tri Mills. They lived in Sugarloaf and had at least five children: Mildred G, Relza Cole, Theodore Kreigh, Karl Derothen & Mearl Bruce.
In 1920, Cyrus applied for a marriage license to marry Hester Elizabeth Fausey of Jackson, Columbia Co. As he was still married to his first wife, he was charged with bigamy. He & Hester fled to West Virginia where they would live as husband and wife and having a large family, but under the assumed name John William Hayes.
I cannot find any references to Cyrus F. Hess prior to his marriage to Elizabeth Cole. We'd really like to be able to find out who his parents are to be able to link him to the larger Hess clan in the area. Any suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated. Thank you!

|Arthur Morgan||HESS FAMILY INFO|
Thanks for you work on the ancestry I am not a direct decendant but connected through marriage and am filling in what I guess would be considered cousins. Your work has helped with this part. I think you probably know it but just in case Hess and Schweinharts are related through marriage my connection to your family.

You are very welcome, Robert! I'm not sure if you are aware but the third marker to the right in the Hess plot belongs to Mary Engle (I think a sister-in-law to George, according to a census). I put more photos on her memorial page as well. Glad I could help you out!

|John||RE: Aaron U Hess and Mae E Hess Transfers|
To change the cemetery you do not have to delete the memorial, there is a much easier way.
Click on Burial: (edit)
Click on Continue
Type the name of the cemetery, country and state
Click on Search for the Cemetery
Click on the circle to the left of the correct cemetery
Click on Save Changes
This way any connections previously made to other memorials will not have to be done again. John
