RE: Major McMullen
Hi Judi. I'll try to stop by Western Cemetery and see if I can answer some of your questions. It's been awhile since I stopped by there. By the way, the gravestone picture uploaded on the memorial for the young Major McMullen appears to be the exact same stone with the exact same dates for the older Major... meaning not the correct stone. It's a very nice picture though which would look great on the elder's memorial page... the inscription is much more clearer than the one I took. I'll take a look and see if there is still a standing stone for the little one. -E.M.

Thank you so much for identifying the graves and adding the pictures of William and Mary McGinnis. They were my great grandparents. Can you tell me how to get or see a copy of the atlas you found their photos in?

Samuel McKay
Hi, there was a photo request for Samuel McKay and I tried to fulfill it, however Samuel doesn't have a headstone, however the caretakers confirmed he is buried with his wife. I notice you already have a picture for Margaret McKay, and it is a lot nicer than mine, so if you add that picture to Samuel and let me know, I will delete mine. Thanks, Debbie

RE: Riverside Cemetery
I also have relatives buried in Riverside and I agree the personnel working in the office are a wonderful help, very pleasant and friendly to talk to. They gave me a printed map of all the sections. They also helped to get my great grandmother's stone raised back up. Over the years it got buried down in the dirt to where I couldn't even find it anymore. After asking them about it they had it raised up back in place in only a few weeks. I was very impressed!

Riverside Cemetery
I noticed your notes about Riverside Cemetery in Moline. The older section in question is definitely still considered Riverside Cemetery. If you submit a photo request I would add a note stating they are buried in the older 4th avenue section. I was just there last week and love exploring that cemetery! It is where John Deere is buried. Lots of interesting monuments there.

RE: Riverside Cemetery, Moline
"Old Riverside" cemetery refers to the very old area below the hill between 4th and 5th Streets in Moline. It is across from the swimming pool. Riverside Cemetery otherwise is built on the hill above the pool and is very large. I hope this helps

RE: Barbara Rodenbaugh
Sorry I didn't see your request for John Freeman before leaving the house today. We went up to Viola to get some Henny Penny chicken and I talked my husband into making a quick detour to the cemetery. I had a good idea of what section the Mizner's were in and luckily found them pretty quick. Viola is just up the road from home so I will definitely go back in the next few days to look for the gravestones of John Freeman and also Mary Jane West Perkins.

Hi Judi... you're very welcome. When I sent off the SAC I didn't even notice who it was going to! Yes, it's been cooler here too. We've been building a new shed so not having the heat has been nice. I will be stopping at Viola Cemetery this week so will hopefully be able to fill your Mizner requests. Happy Easter to you too! Take care, E.M.

RE: Mary Metzler Rhodenbaugh
Actually, my 3rd gr-grandfather Levi Shaw married Ann Metzler in 1828. After her death two years later, he married her sister Martha. I am from the one son of Levi and Ann. So I'm interested in going up the Metzler ine moreso than "down" it!

I've been in touch with a man in New Mexico who has done a lot of research on the Metzler family.
