Question regarding Five Points Cemetery
Hi Judi, I saw that you made entries for Catharine and Henry Huyck in the Five Points Cemetery back in 2014. I was wondering where you got the information or if maybe they could be somewhere else. I asked to pictures and the lady who got back to me said they are not there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Sue Naegeli

Are you related to Henry Hodson
Hi, you left flowers on Henry Hodson's page. He is my great-great grandfather. Are you also related?

Glad to have found it. Note that there is a second memorial for him on the site--due to his burial date being three years later. I notified the creator, but I will leave it to you to follow up further.

Clark S. Gregg Oakland cemetery. I found a marker for him, but all that was legible was the name on the top of the marker. The problem is that there are two Clark S. Gregg's listed in Oakland, and I do not know which one the marker is for. This was in section 60/61 (I was looking for your Bristol request, which I did not find, and came across this one).

So glad I could be off additional assistance. I enjoy genealogical detective work. Although as everyone researcher knows, It can be frustrating at times to find anything definitive.

The children of William & Sarah Huyck are interred in this cemetery, however, there is no listing of their parents William & Sarah.

There is another web site I have found to be very useful. It has information of Ohio deaths from the early 1800's to the present. There are several Huycks listed and perhaps some may be of interest for you. Unfortunately Henry & Sarah are not listed there either.

Alexander Crawford
I was recently at the Pepacton Cemetery and found a grave for Alexander Crawford Born Feb 9,1808, Died Nov. 4, 1884.

You recently submitted a photo request for someone of the same name with different dates of birth and death.

If you request a photograph for the Alexander Crawford of these dates, I can fulfill it. I did not find a monument for the individual with the dates that you posted.

I misspelled her last name in my last message. Forgot the "u". However, when I checked the book, I was using her correct name.

RE: Sarah Hyck

I have a book that has the cemetery census for Huron County up to 1997. I found only 1 Sarah Hyck in Huron County. The following information is transcribed from the book:

Huyck, Sarah Ann
Daughter of William & Sarah Huyck
Died Oct. 8, 1843, Age 1 year, 8 months
Plot location Row 12, Lot 18
Location: Mesnard Cemetery, Norwalk Twp.

This Sarah, of course, isn't the wife of Jacob. I thought she may aid you in your genealogical research.

Regarding the cemetery records, the best source I have found for my own family research are the Township Trustees where the cemetery is located. Hinkley Cemetery is in Fairfield Twp. Huron Co.

However, I have found that early cemetery records are non existent and often unreliable and inaccurate. You can get information to contact Fairfield Trustees via The Huron Co. website:

Another useful web site lists the table of contents only for the book I have entitled, "Huron County Cemetery Inscriptions" which can be very useful to find names in Huron Co. cemeteries. Unfortunately only the names with the page numbers are listed. If you find any names of interest with the page number, I will be glad to look it up and send you the information.

I hope this information will be useful for your research.

Lynn Center Cemetery
Hi Judi. I wanted to let you know I made it over to the Lynn Center today. I was shocked to pull up and see there are only 3 gravestones and unfortunately once again they are not the names you are looking for. At least the cemetery and names are now included on the site. I'll keep looking! -E.M.

Judi, I am transcribing Walworth County Wisconsin Deaths & Burials records onto Find A Grave. The cemetery where a person is buried is listed on this record and that is how I came to make her an entry in this cemetery so that family, like you, could find her. Unfortunately, I do not have any information other than what was on this record which just listed her husband.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Sorry, there is no Mary J. West PERKINS listed on the burial list for Viola Cemetery. Surprisingly, there is only one with the Perkins surname... Edna M. Perkins. -E.M.

RE: Names, Swedona Cemetery, Henry Co.
You're very welcome. I am going to try to swing by Lynn Center Cemetery for you one of these days. Not sure when as it isn't close by, but it will make for a nice country drive. I know I have been there before, but it was for geocaching and not graving. If I remember correctly there are not very many gravestones, but hopefully at the very least it will help you narrow down locations.

On another note... I stopped by Viola Cemetery today with a map and a burial list. John C. Freeman is buried in what they call the "old section" in Lot #40. I know I was in the right area, but was unable to locate a gravestone for him. There were quite a few empty spaces. The burial list does state that he died at the age of 79 years old. Also, his wife Lucinda was not on the burial list.

Hi Judi. I was able to get over to Swedona Lutheran Cemetery earlier this afternoon, but unfortunately, we had no luck and could not find even one of the names. I was so disappointed as I was hoping to help you out. However, I will still keep the list of names with me and continue to look for them on my my visits to the area cemeteries. -E.M.
