Omohundro and McCulloch

Rick: Hello, I am searching for the graves of Thomas McCulloch and Martha Omohundro who had 3 sons, James Wyatt McCulloch, J. Flint McCulloch, and Robert P. McCulloch. Who were from Fluvanna, Co Va.

Also - searching for a Johnny Omohundro - who flew a crop duster out of Fork Union in the 1950's

I think I may have a picture of Texas Jack - would you like to see it via e-mail. Patt

Elias and Christopher Mcquithy
Good morning. I am trying to get a photo of my Great grandfather and his brother, Christopher, stones. I contacted Long Black Veil but she said she would not be able to. The grave location is out by McClain cemetery, south of Salt Lick, on 211. Go on past McClain, across the creek, up towards the old empty house, turn left on the cow path, go about 1/4 mile, seems like it was across the little bridge. It was off to the right. I found it easy in 1979. Was there in 2002 and things were really overgrown, but it was summer and trees fully leafed. It was found in 2004 by a couple of ladies that posted about it in i had a photp but it was lost, that i took in 1979. Do you know if this graveyard ever had a name? Or was it a family plot. Christopher died ca 1903, Elias ca. 1907. Seems like there were one or 2 more markers, around 20 actual graves. I think spring time would be best time to find it.

RE: Jack
Thanks Rick, I've corrected the spelling of Jr., surname. This is another one of those surnames that's spelled different ways.

I still own you the Ward family info.

Have a great day

RE: Delmer Ward
Thanks Rick for linking Delmer to his parents. I will send you info on his family thru your home email. It will be first part of nest week before I can get that info to you. I'm working on another family line now.

Merry Christmas

RE: Delmer Ward
I have done a lot of research on Delmar' Ward and Sexton family lines. Delmar's uncle was married to my father's oldest sister. His brother William Tex Ward passed away about a week ago, at Salt Lick, buried in the Jones cemetery.

If I have any info that you would like on the Ward family let me know.

Did Jack Hardin and Laura Bell have a daughter named Gladys Hardin who passed away at a young age?

James & Bessie McFarland

Sometime when you have the time, will you check Bath County Memorial Gardens and take a photo of the stone for James Everett and Bessie McFarland. I have contacted the person who has James and Bessie listed in the Jones cemetery to transfer their memorial to the correct cemetery, so far she has refused to do this.

Thank you Rick for all your help and for the work you do on find a grave. Your photographs are wonderful.

Many blessing

RE: McFarland
Thanks Rick,

Since a photo of James E & Bessie McFarland stone is posted on find a grave as buried in Jones Cemetery. I'm sure the person who took the photo and posted on Find A Grave, thought this was still the Jones Cemetery, when she was taking photographs.

James E & Bessie McFarland

Can you please tell me if James Everett & Bessie McFarland are buried in the Jones Cemetery or in Bath County Memorial Gardens.. Both James E & Bessie were moved from the Alfrey Cemetery when the Cave Run Lake was builded... They are listed on find a grave in the Jones cemetery, I am guessing this might be incorrect.

Thank you for any help.

RE: Robert E

You maybe right....I also noticed Robbie, was listed as Robbie Gene in his brother' obit. I've found mistakes in obits, people make mistakes when a love one has died and they are giving info to the funeral home.... I only knew he him as Robbie, no middle name... Robbie married my cousin.

Thanks Rick for all your help.

God Bless

Robert E "Robbie" Spurlock

His middle name might have been Eugene, the reason I say this birth index, marriage record and SS death index, all have Robbie, listed as Robert E Spurlock.

I'm going to leave his memorial as Robert E "Robbie" Spurlock, because his middle name would not have been Gene, with an E.

Thank you, and thank you for all your help, on Robbie and others on Find A Grave.

God Bless

I have also requested new headstone photos for Orville and Maggie Omohundro. The one there is nice but posted at such a small resolution it is unreadable. There are a lot of volunteers in the area so maybe will get them. MHN

I decided to call Mt. Olivet and see if I could get information. Talked to a very nice person and he said that they have no record, so I just sent to edit and ask them to merge as the one at Suggs Creek has very little information and the creator is inactive and I know from past experience that getting anything corrected or added to her memorials has to go to edit. Maybe it won't take to long. The person that gave the information for his death certificate was his daughter. You would think she would not have made that mistake. Thank you, MHN

His death cert shows Mt. Olivet. I will ask my friend who take Mt. Olivet photos to see if he has a headstone there and if she finds that he is not buried there I will send it to edit to merge so that none of the information will be lost. Seems that the death cert would not have made that much of a mistake, but possible, especially since his wife is buried there and he is died in Wilson CO MHN

Morton Patterson Omohundro
I have contact with someone who takes photos in Mt. Olivet and will ask her to see if she can get a photo for Morton and his wife. I found many records including Nashville city directory that give his name as Morton Patterson. I do appreciate the edits, as I like the memorials to be as complete as possible.
