RE: Charles Brown in Carquinez Cem.
I thank you so much..... you have already given me more than I knew. I did not know his cause of death, nor where he died. Was there anyone else's name on the cemetery records?
I am afraid I do not know the plot#.
Again, thank you greatly. I so appreciate it.

Thank you so much for the photo! I did get your earlier email, but life got in the way and then it totally slipped my mind to reply! Thank you for taking the time to get the pictures of her plot. It's much appreciated! And I hope your leg is better! :) Kathy

RE: Sanoma Co.Frank Lavine, Civil Wae Vereran
Hi Andrea. Yes, Frank Lavine is listed in Mountain Cemetery, Sonoma. His Find A Grave number is 73536013.

I'm sorry to make things difficult for you.I live in rural northern Vermont, and am not as used to the huge cemeteries, which require more detail to find. Most of our cemeteries in the county where I am are only an acre or two ( or smaller)
Thanks for being kind, I do appreciate it.

Do you have anything that documents this is the burial site for Frank Lavine. I would like to ask you if I could use the photo to post on the Vermont Civil War, if the burial is documented/ If you wish to check out the site it is

You would be credited for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Thanks for the offer, Andrea, but there's no need to photograph the general area where Joseph Martins is buried. I did that for her a while back. It was very kind of you to offer though.

RE: Joseph Martins
No unfortunately she doesn't know the plot number. Supposedly Joseph Martins is buried just inside on the right of the entrance. If you ever find the plot number, could you let me know? Thanks so much. :-)

Bornecke & A Question
No problem on the date. Apparently, I did the exact same thing!

P.S. In your research at Carquinez Cemetery, have you come across any mention of a burial for one Mr. Joseph Martins? I know someone who is related to him. It would be so nice to take a picture of the plot where he is buried. I don't think there is a gravestone for him.

Thanks, I got it. Sorry, I've been so in and out during this transfer. My mother passed away last Wednesday (Find A Grave Memorial# 119874130). Her funeral was today. Normally I wouldn't follow up on the wife of a grand uncle, but Uncle Arthur and Aunt Cecilia were so special to my father, I wanted to follow up on her family

RE: Berg.
Thanks for the transfers. Arthur and Cecily lived in Oakland. They picked the cemetery in Benicia because they liked the view according to my folks.

They never had any children. Arthur was really close to his brother Henry who was my fathers father. Arthur spent a lot of time with my father and his siblings when they were growing up. I only remember Cecily once she was in bed at home just before she died. I have two or three remembrances of Uncle Arthur.

My folks knew John Bulger and said he was a 'free spirit' I'm assuming Ms. Berg was his girl friend, but I have nothing to base it on.

I wonder who ordered that headstone?

Can you please transfer Find A Grave Memorials# 111811846, 111811819. They were my grand aunt and uncle. I would also like 111811866 who was Cecily brother and 111811855 who no one in the family knows anything about, but at this time I think she was John's girl friend.

RE: Sylvanus Farnham @ Carquinez
Hi Andrea,

Thank you for the very kind letter. I am sorry to hear that your father recently passed away too. My dad also had cancer. It sometimes brings me a little comfort to remember that he is no longer suffering from the horrible disease. I hope that you are able to say the same.

I understand the need to get the correct information out there and that the info. submitted years ago on Carquinez is for the most part either inaccurate or incomplete. It appears that perhaps the information was obtained from a book. It's unfortunate that the contributor has not responded to your requests, especially since you have taken the time to visit the cemetery.

It can take quite a while for anyone through Find A Grave to make necessary corrections. I'd like to encourage you to continue to try through that avenue.

Thanks for all of your hard work out there at the cemetery. That poor little place needs kind people like you to go out and visit those who are buried there. I have the feeling that place is mostly forgotten. :-(

Take good care,

Sylvanus Farnham @ Carquinez

Thanks for the note on Sylvanus Farnham Jr. After reviewing the info. online, it has come to my attention that the tribute I had created is a duplicate. I have removed the tribute I made and added the picture I had taken to the tribute submitted back in 2010. I wanted to let you know, since you were kind enough to post a picture on the tribute I had created.

You may also want to check some of your tributes. It looks like you have created some duplicates there as well. It's a tough cemetery to transcribe since previous listings there are rather incomplete.

Thanks again for bringing this to my attention.

P.S. And thank you for your condolences. I appreciate it very much.
