Ransom connections
Hi Frank,

There is no way for me to add a sibling to Samuel's memorial using "family connections". I could do this in his bio., but I would try the normal route first.

A child may be added to a parent, and a spouse may be added to a spouse. Parents can not add children, and children can not add siblings in family connections.

However, memorials have been added for John and Samuel's parents, so you may request that John's parents are added to John's memorial.

John's memorial # 44280073
Father Robert's memorial # 77431151
Mother Sarah's memorial # 77431250

The links to John's parents may be added, thus linking him to his brother Samuel, but please note, the person who created John's parent's memorials, listed them as "burial unknown" and per Find A Grave rules, after 30 days may be deleted. However, I have never had an burial "unknown" memorial deleted to date.

Best of luck,
Shari

John Ransom
Frank,

I've already made the link from John to Samuel.

Now I'm trying to create the link, which I'll mail to you email address (find-a-grave system won't let my message go through with a link in it). And I'm hoping that all you have to do is cut and paste what I send into the Bio field of Samuel's memorial and it will link with John's memorial.

If it doesn't, please let me know and we'll talk by phone and I'll walk you through it.

It's simple.

Frank,
Yes there's a way to link the brothers, using a link devised by find-a-grave.
I've got patients in 20 minutes and can't make the link from my end, but if you'll send me the find-a-grave memorial number for John, I'll make my link this evening or tomorrow morning, and then send you the information on how to do it. Once you've done it, it's easy.

RE: John Ransom
Frank,
Thanks so much for your response. Burials unknown are a real problem for me because I do a lot of research, track down burials, photograph gravestones, and check a find-a-grave cemetery religiously before creating a memorial. Then months or years later, I go to link that memorial with a parent or spouse's memorial and realize that there's an existing memorial for the person whose memorial I created. Someone else has created a memorial with an "unknown burial" and it's hanging out there in cyberspace, completely invisible to me when I'm creating my own memorial. Then, because the other contributor's memorial pre-dates mine, there's a battle royal when I ask her/him to delete theirs. But find-a-grave has always been supportive in situations like this because the primary goal of the organization is to register graves and so, the person who finds the grave usually prevails. But I'm tired of the battles, and have adopted my own policy of linking my memorials only with people whose graves are established.
Thanks for understanding,
Janet Muff

John Ransom
Frank,

I have declined your request to link John Ransom to his parents because I do not link my memorials to memorials that have been created for unknown burials.

Frank,

I obtained that through the Newspapers.com website.

You should be able to save the image.
Make sure you left click on the image once.
It will take you to the full size image of the Sketch.

Here's the link to that page:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=64266365&PIpi=120092167

Just right click and save the image.
I've documented the source, located on the bottom of the page (Wilkes-Barre Record Newspaper August 27, 1901, page 3).

Also, his wife was Hildegarde Brahl.
I've added her obituary to her profile about a week ago.
Just another note. Hildegarde's brother was Christopher Brahl.
Christopher Brahl married Louise Marie Baer in a double ceremony with Louise's sister Katherine Baer who married THE Charles Stegmaier (of the Stegmaier Brewery).

I hope this helps.

Hi Frank,
I am sorry but I cannot add Capt. Daniel Lawrence to his mother's memorial. Only the person who posted his memorial can do that. I did not post his memorial.

There is more.
Go to Familysearch.org and search her full name.
You will find her birth listing and a copy of her death certificate.

There is at least one other Clough plot in Lakeside Cemetery.
Can you be more specific as to the first names of the people you are looking for?

CASE Cemetery Location
The location of the CASE Cemetery is on Findagrave at:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pis&PIcrid=1845332&PIpi=19648513&PIMode=cemetery
This is a photo and the caption reads:
This cemetery is 4/10 of a mile down Zbick Road in Jackson Twp., and on private property. You have to turn left in between stone walls and go down the drive and pull over by the barn.
ASK BEFORE ENTERING THEIR YARD!
This is PRIVATE PROPERTY!
The cemetery is overgrown and full of poison ivy. There are not many stones remaining.
I believe we found 31 stones in all.

Somewhere, I have the directions to the CASE cemetery. I will search for them and, assuming that I find them, I'll pass them along.
I recall that the cemetery is on private property and difficult to fin.

I am sorry that I didn't ever visit that cemetery and probably used the records of the genealogy society to enter them. I see the there are pictures of the cemetery on the site and they are attributed to Patty whose email is civilwarwidow@gmail.com. Try her and see if she can help you .
