ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

Hi Russ!

You have done an outstanding/remarkable job putting these memorial pages together!!!

Thank you so much for all the work you have gathered. I'm in the infantry stages of trying to figure out my relatives.

The Boyds are on my great great grandfather's brother's side. I recently did a DNA test and have found some people who may be 4th cousins, etc... So, I'm trying to complete that side, to see the links.

I find it interesting, but hard to relate to (no pun intended) since I never even knew my grandfather, much less my great grandfather and so on and son on and so on. I'd love to be able to find a photo of Jay Albert Hardenbrook or Maurice Burpee Huffman. I can't believe you have gone as far back as YOU have, to find photos. That is REMARKABLE and very fun to see.

Thank you for all of your work. I am finding more and more that you have created and really enjoying the information you have posted.

Thank you SO much!!!

Respectfully,

Carol B.C. Honkanen

RE: Wrong man...
Thanks, Russ. I'm also a descendant of Thomas Boyd, Jr through his son Joseph Wesley Boyd Sr., his son Joseph Wesley Boyd Jr, and his son John Logan Boyd (my grandfather). Guess this makes us approximately 4th to 6th cousins. Have you done a yDNA test? Are you a member of the ftDNA Boyd Project? If so, I'd love to compare our yDNA. I just finished the Ancestry.com autosomal DNA test as well. Thanks again, my friend.

Wrong man...
I believe the picture you have up for Joseph Wesley Boyd Sr. is actually his father, Thomas Boyd Jr.

Tony Godwin - yDNA match with the Thomas Boyd Jr. line.

The markers were hard to take. The first Frederick came back blank. I was still near by when the sun came out and took one that is readable. But on the main marker is: In Memmory of Private Alois A Heup.

I added that memorial picture to the memorial in France. Find A Grave Memorial# 106881452

RE: Rima
Hi Russ,

This may be a duplicate as I was bounced off the net just I hit send.

John Rima and Sarah Hunt are my GG Grandparents. Most of the information I have gathered came from a distant cousin who has gathered a large amount of information, but is yet to put any online. At one time he provided a newsletter to many Rima descendants and information was shared in that manner. I still have some of the information and would be glad to provide whatever i can - just provide me names to research.

Currently i'm researching the hunt side of the family, but at this point I have found very little information other than her marriage in IL and death in KS

RE: Ruah McNutt
I will ask him when I talk to him. The thing he was most pleased about was the year of her death. The burials in that section were before he was there, and some, before he was born. One cleared up helps date a section ...

You're welcome. I still have to get ahold of the cemetery manager and fine tune this a bit, but she is there. He was glad that you asked about her, as he did not have any records regarding her, even her year of death. So, you've helped him update his records by asking. He said thanks ...

The part of the cemetery where she lies is the oldest, with huge beautiful trees, shaded. It is truly lovely. Wilder is a small town almost on the Oregon border, flat, but surrounded by mountains. The principal crop of the exact area is hops. It is a nice cemetery, and well-maintained.

Thank you very much for editing the obit. All the correctiions have been made (I think) and the other info that you provided has been entered. Again, thank you for your assistance in bringing the Eagleville Cemetery up todate. The picture you added was terrific.

RE: Eagleville Cemetery
Sorry about my previous message regarding Guy and Edith HackenbErg.
We take most of our information from the obituaries from the local newspaper.
They had Mr. HackenbErg's name as HackenbUrg.
We looked a little further and found the mispelling and can provide you with Guy's Find A Grave Number. It is 72103194.
We are attempting to find Edith Hackenberg's location.
Will let you know when we do.
Again, sorry for the misinformation.

We have every person interred in the Eaglevile Cemetery in FindAGrave.
Sorry, but we do list a Guy or Edith Hackenberg.
There are five (5) Mabriers, none named Edith.
Wish we could have been of more assistance.
