Charlie & Betty Rodgers
I also found Charles & Betty Rodgers buried near Fannie Rodgers. I added photos to Charles' memorial and Betty wasn't listed, so I created her memorial and added photos to that. If you want me to transfer Betty over to you, just use the edit tab to do so. Diane

Sheilah Andrews
Re: Elizabeth Ann Woods/Rev. Green Woods wife
Marriage document information: NAME: Elizabeth Ann Crawford
GENDER: Female
RESIDENCE: Lawrence, Arkansas
SPOUSE'S NAME: Green Woods
SPOUSE'S GENDER: Male
SPOUSE'S RESIDENCE: Randolph, Arkansas
MARRIAGE DATE: 31 Mar 1842
MARRIAGE COUNTY: Lawrence
EVENT TYPE: Marriage
FHL FILM NUMBER: 1290702

States her maiden name Crawford vs Blackburn? Many of their children were born in Lawrence County, Arkansas. Rev. Green Woods has a land record dated 01 Sep 1859 in Dent county, MO (which is probably when they were 1st settling in the area.) What do you think about this maiden name information of Crawford vs Blackburn? Sincerely, Sheilah

Friends of Cedar Lawn Cemetery
RE: John A Van Winkle 141144416
Dear Janet,

In answer to your question, there is a record of Mary (Cadmus) Van Winkle being buried in the Van Winkle family plot at Cedar Lawn - Section 6, Lot 325. In this plot are Mary's husband, John Peter Van Winkle, who died in 1891, their daughter, Lillie, who died in 1876, and their son, John A. Van Winkle, who died in 1906.

The Van Winkle family monument has the following four inscriptions:

J.P. Van Winkle 1833-1891
Maria Cadmus Van Winkle 1840-1909
Lillie Van Winkle 1858-1876
John A. Van Winkle 1861-1906

I will have to go to the records next week to see who else may be interred in the Van Winkle plot. It is a rather large lot, and it is possible that others are buried there whose names just weren't inscribed on the family stone.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

Mike (Friends of Cedar Lawn)

Hello, Janet. I left a picture of W. B. Graham on the memorial you have for him, and I wrote the source of the picture in its caption. Hope it's okay with you.

Hi Janet,

I think the copyright has expired on articles as old as the transcription I sent you but I will double check with them and get back to you so you can post the entire obituary if you would like.

RE: Caleb and Gertrude Mitchell
I do know that they have some of the people mixed up. They are not listed in the correct Mitchell cemetery. My husband and I rode by one this afternoon. We have to get permission to go on the property. I will take pictures of all the graves that I locate on the property. You can email me at either boatwrmr@dhec.sc.gov or genealogynut66@yahoo.com. My Mitchells are so far back that I rarely work on them.

RE: Caleb and Gertrude Mitchell
I know of three of them. Two of them are right close to together on Beulah Road. The other one I know about is on Hwy 391 just before you get to Ridge Road. I will see what I can do about getting to them and getting pictures. It may take several weeks since the flu is going around in my house. The only reason I know about them is because I live in the area and had been told about them. Also I am related to Mitchell's. I will keep in touch.

Caleb and Gertrude Mitchell
Hey Janet,
I see you are looking for Caleb and Gertrude Mitchell and John didn't find them. Did you know that there are two Mitchell cemeteries and they are very close together? Are you related to Mitchell's?

Relation to the Lowery Family at Big Sandy Methodist. I have just posted their shared marker. They are just below the Lowery Family. I will send a private photo in relation to the cemetery and have retaken the Lowery family stones. Check Mary E. Mckee Clark, I posted her stone. She is not close to these but with Clarks.

Ken Culp
Joseph Culp
Hi
Got your edits on above and accepted. Joe Culp (b 1853) was my great grandfather. Yes his mother was Julia Emory and she married the slave overseer G. Carter. I am going by oral history. Julia Emory was originally married to William N. Culp (went by Medley his middle name). Julia and her (third husband?) owned the hotel in Scott's Hill, Tenn. Would be glad to hear about Julia, she was widowed when her husband Medley was captured by armed bandits to their plantation as he was wealthy at the time.

Sounds great! We are out of town this week (going to the Cowboy game on Thursday. As much rain we got, it will be nice to have the mushy muddy grounds dry up.
