|Ray Till||William N "Willis" Doan #69768480|
The subject William N is not a child of J Randall Doan (# 63658231) or Esther L Doan ( # 63658232). The correct child for J Randall & Esther Doan is William Brown Doan ( # 56239895). Source is Pennsylvania Death Certificates ( # 70468 for William Brown Doan & # 88494 for Willis N Doan) and various Federal Censuses. email me if there are questions.

I think your request for Dora Bell Miller is going to be an unmarked grave, but I want to make sure. According to records, she is in the same lot as first husband William Terman. I located his grave, but did not note any Eudora or Dora with him (there is no marked burial on his right, so that may be where she is).

I'm having trouble finding any Lejeal funeral records or obits! Phooey, losing my touch.
Added by A.Firefly on Jul 14, 2014 8:47 PM
About the two J. Lejeals -- the dates, which were confirmed with the Holy Cross database when it was online, are different. Re-interments were nearly always entered with the date of reburial, and people were not entered 2x -- generally -- under both dates.
I'm not convinced that Jean B listed buried in 1927 is the same person as John Baptisti buried in 1879 -- the name Jean Baptist and it's variants being very common and running in families, I would not find it surprising to see a variation.
Also, the Holy Cross records were just amazingly well kept, and to come up with a new spelling for the name of the same person during re-interment has not been seen in any of my entries thus far.
I'm going to do more research but for now I'm leaving both entries since I do believe at this time they are separate persons.
If you have a reason to believe that there is no Jean B Lejeals (which also could be a female, and not a Jean Baptiste variant now that I think about it) buried at Holy Cross, I would be glad to sort out the discrepancy. A funeral record of a re-burial in 1927 of an original burial somewhere in 1879 would be ideal!

I noticed you posted two memorials - one for John Griscom Penniman, one for Helen Ingram Penniman. There are 5 more people on that same stone and I made memorials for each one of them. Are these people part of your family? I can transfer to them if you like if they are your family. Let me know.

I did not find a headstone for William Schott, but did find one for Catherine 1806-18?? The death date was corrected and it could be 1860-1884. If you create a memorial for her I will post the photo.

Hi! Regarding your photo request, can you please contact the cemetery and obtain the Section, Lot, and Grave Number information, and then post it to your request? Please also ask if there is a grave marker and add that information to your photo request and/or memorial. The Find A Grave FAQs state the photo requestor is responsible to provide this information.
Elmwood Cemetery: (708) 453-0273
This cemetery provides extremely limited assistance to photo volunteers with finding a grave's location. Last year I was able to fulfill almost 200 photo requests at Elmwood through this process. Because the lots in this cemetery are poorly marked, almost no one else ever photographs here. I have only had success here because I have spent literally weeks at a time to learn the intricacies of the layout of this cemetery.
Thank you for helping me to help you.

Please advise concerning my message below. I'll be going to the cemetery this coming Wednesday & would like to have this resolved by then.

|Gerry Jean||Ethel Welch|
It's difficult to pin down Ethel's exact location because her Holy Cross data base record only shows the section-row-area (E-10-5), no plot or grave designations. There's a large monument with mostly the Warren family interred, with a few other names on that same stone ... that location is section-row-area-plot-grave (E-10-5-2-blank). Another nearby stone has the name McCoppin, in location E-10-5-3-blank for section-row-area-plot-grave. Between the Warren and McCoppin stones is a burial spot w/o a stone. If Ethel isn't connected with either the Warrens or McCoppins, then she is interred in the "no headstone" location.
Would you please advise?
