RE: Picture on Find A Grave
Jan,
I knew Bob when he was a senior at Poteau High School in Poteau, Oklahoma. I lost track of him when he graduated but we were good friends that year. That picture is from my 1952 year book. There is also a standard full face photo of him. If you would like to have it, send me an email to cbtobler@swbell.net and I will email you a copy.

RE: Lettie Mills Lewis headstone
Jan,

Actually, I should have asked, how are you planning to use the photo? If for your own personal family tree, that's fine. Btw, I noticed that there is a duplicate memorial for Lettie in the Mount Zion Cemetery with on photo of her gravestone. It's not o.k. to repost to the duplicate memorial on FindAGrave. Those two memorials really should be merged before an admin deletes the duplicate.

Best Regards,
-Sherryl

Hi Jan,

Absolutely you may use the photo. Thanks for asking. Please refer to her FindaGrave memorial so others can find her. (-: Glad we were able to help.

Yes as long as you give me credit. I usually include our name and date on the photo. However, in some of the earlier photos I did not. - dennis

RE: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Washington County, AR
Yes, Letitia Mills Lewis is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Sulphur Springs. In the book, Daniel Jones and his Descendants, Peggy Cook and Rosella Faulk state that Riley Jones owned the land and donated the cemetery. Their research into the family genealogy was lengthy. I don't know if this info was accurate. There is a Mt. Zion cemetery in Prairie Grove and there is a Zion Cemetery in Springdale. You may want to check again on location. Please tell me where you found the information about the Rice family.

Jan,
I went back by the cemetery to see if there was a headstone for Mr. Mills. There was, I have added a pic to his memorial. Just wanted to let you know.
Regards,
Karen

Hi Jan,

I accepted your link requests to her parents and spouse. However, I removed the link to Rachel VanHoose that you provided (Find A Grave Memorial# 145253649) because it is a duplicate memorial. Rachel has a memorial that was created in 2009 and it contains pictures of her gravestone (Find A Grave Memorial# 41497416). Just thought I'd mention that in case you missed that there was already a memorial for Rachel, since duplicate memorials are not allowed on FindAGrave.

Best Regards,
-Sherryl

Sorry, I have family in Ohio, and thought you were writing about them. Nate Whitehead got his Eagle Scout Badge by cleaning up Mt. Zion two winters ago. He and the others from the Elkins Boy Scout Troop did a fine job. After it was cleaned up, two of Riley Jones' descendants donated money for the fence. It will stretch completely across the front when completed. Another descendant.....James Ramey and his brother, made the arch and the sign over the gate. I have been looking most of the summer for someone to mow out there. It's starting to look rough. My private contact information is in the mailbox. I don't want to post it here. Please send me a private message.

You are quite welcome Jan. I had actually taken the pic a few years ago, before I started adding photos to findagrave so I didn't even realize I had it.

Gone Grave Hoppin
Bates Cemetery
Dear Jan,
I have not given up on finding this cemetery. I have researched and drove everywhere to find it. After several weeks and many prayers, I found it! This just made my day!
I do not have an address as it is in-between two buildings. If you go to Google Earth and put in the address: 1404 E. Central Bentonville, AR it will take you to two buildings with Rogers Tool Works on the right. The small cemetery is in-between the two buildings and there is no sign stating the cemetery.
Also, Etta Cornett Kellar is not buried there. There are only two graves there and only room for two as it is very small.
Hope this helps you! It sure made my day!
