Law decsendants
Rhea, somehow I am going to get in touch with you. For some reason I receive emails, but I cannot send emails. We have had trouble with our internet for several months---I don't give up easily---so I know I will get it fixed. Thank you for the pictures! I will be gathering info and pics for you. There were 4 brothers and 2 steps sisters. The brothers names were Ivory Orlan Law, Joshua Perry Law [nickname-Jot], Whitten Wright Law, Callen Hunter Law. I seen the info about the Colcord cemetery, my sister had the family name "Colcord" in some of her info. I have no doubt that we share the same ancestors. My sister was the genealogist in our family. She passed in 2003. Then my brother-in-law handed boxes of "stuff" to me. I have read thru much of it, but not really sorted it as it should be. "NOW" is the time!!! I am wondering if you would like to have some pictures and info sent to you. Then you can sort thru the info yourself. I would gladly to that for you. Take Care and I will be in touch. Sheryl

Rhea, my name is Sheryl Law Batien. I live in South Dakota. I believe that your great grandfather Wright Witten Law and my great grandfather Ivory Orlan Law were brothers. I have pictures of them. Also of Nellie and Vern. I can be found on facebook. If interested please leave a private message.

RE: Cornelius, S.Elizabeth & Alma Gibson
When you go to the Fairmount office ask them for a Family Plot Map for Plot #15J-6. The family plot maps have a lot of information on them. Most people don't usually think about a plot map.

Rhea: I supplied the plot information, I also sent a correction for Cornelious and S. Elizabeth to their Manager to have them changed from Greenwood Cemetery to Fairmount Cemetery.

Have a good one....

you can add memorials to west Genesee (Colcord) that you know or are most likely there, the newer interrments will most likely be in Genesse Grove Central Cemetery. I have about 50 more photos of west Genesse, but only 2 i can verify as LAW

I have transferred the 2 children to you and added the photo of her stone to your memorial, there are at least 2 more "Law"s in this cemetery, one is a daughter died in 16 Oct 1865 or 63 : 9yrs 6 ms 17ds. i can't make out the name , the other is i believe a son not sure of name other than LAW and someone reset the son in concrete covering the dates forever, next to that is a Thomas...nothing else can be read on the face of the stone.

if you know who they are that would help

Have fun figuring this one out

RE: Law photos-Colcord Cemetery
Welcome. those photos were taken in 2009, that cemetery is pretty close to abandoned, sadly most the stones are now getting totally destroyed, there are a few more Laws in the cemtery, one has only a death date in 1861 buried near the two you requested.. the top half is missing so i have no clue who it is to add them...if you know of this family maybe yu can figure it out.

Mr. Gilbert is not any relation to me. I am currently working on taking photos of all the headstones in Greenwood Cemetery, and then adding all info from the stone to Find A Grave. I would be happy to transfer management of his memorial to you if you would like.

Information On Drake-Walton Cemetery
I ran across this site that has some information about the people buried in this cemetery I thought you might be interested in. Here is the link. When I get a chance to get over that way I will try to find the cemetery and take the pictures you have requested. Here is the link.

Hall Gilbert Families
Dear Rhea,
I am currently working on the Hall/Gilberts and I do appreciate your information.'s Hall information is BS and the Hall family is very hard to figure out due to the merging of people and records.
I would love to share information with you. I live in Ashdown AR and am disabled due to horse wrecks, cow wrecks, and construction sites.
I have about 52,000 folk in my tree and they are all shirt tail kin. I was intending to give software and my tree to various family members but decided to redo the Russellville side of the family first.
Anyway, thank you again for the information in Find A Grave. I was getting peterbed..

Yes, I was equally disappointed! There are some other Flicks in that cemetery going back a ways (with more information on their gravestones) that may be of interest.

J(asper) M Gilbert ~ Randolph
RE: Your photo request

According to the transcription of memorials at Randolph (taken from the Fannin County website), there is an "unreadable" memorial for J M Gilbert which is presumably the one for which you have requested a photo. I think I found it ... marking a plot lying alonside the resting place of Cornelia A Gilbert. It is a broken section from the upper half of a sandstone memorial; and the only lettering which is just faintly visible is 'J M '.

I have not claimed your request 'cuz I'm just guessing that it is the right one. I'll leave it to you ... whether or not you want me to claim the request & post the photo.

RE: Law/Stone Family
Thanks for posting the photos! It's great to hear from you, cousin - you ARE my 3rd cousin. Nellie Romain Stone was my GG Aunt - Nellie's brother, Charles S. Stone was my great grandfather; Verne E. Law would have been my 1st cousin, 2X removed. Your mom, Shirley would be my 2nd cousin, 1X removed. I also have lots of info on the Stones, and Wrights, etc. I see you've posted lots of information on, as well. Let's compare notes.
Jeff Gonyea

PS: My grandmother (mom's side) was Clara Irene Stone, daughter of Charles S. Stone and Meda Wright.

I am going to try to get to Fairview this weekend deppending on the weather. I think I have seen that stone before so I might no where to look.
It is a hue cemetery but I will find it. It might take a few trips but I have foud atlast 35 stones far people on find a grave. This stone has that round top that is a bit unussuall so that should help.
I will look around on all four sides and get pictures of all the inscriptions that I find.
