John Floyd Hall
I went to look at my grandfather, John Floyd Hall's memorial today, and add some items to it, and it seems I can't because you merged my memorial with yours. I would appreciate it if you would transfer his memorial to me, since the memorial my sister and I put together for him when we bought his headstone, is now non-existent.
Thank You, Carol Hall Wuthrich

RE: Re: Mary LCavanaugh Dodd gravestone
Hello,

You are very welcome. Mary was a difficult headstone. The only reason I didn't just walk right by it was because the DODD name was so visible at the bottom. I used my fingers to trace the name to make sure I was reading what I was seeing correctly. I also reconfirmed what I had in the cemetery book of headstones. There is only one difference, the cemetery book has written Aged 38 years, but the photo and my fingers read 33 years. I transcribed what I was. Sorry I couldn't get the moss/lichen off of the stone. I gently rubbed and it refused to budge.

Take care,
LeeaB

Again you are most welcome. :) I have been going to the cemetery since I was a wee one. My Mom would take me out and point out the graves and tell me a story about the folks buried there. I have carried on this tradition with my daughters and now my grandchildren. I hope it carries on so that the stories and the folks will not be forgotten.

RE: Jay D. McKenna grave
Thank You! I'm glad that I was able to find the tombstone.. I was going to contact you about the other request, Isbella. There is a different date and others also that I need to check first.

I was able to go to the Twp and locate their records. For Jay D McDenna Lot # 288, They show 2 of the 4 graves currently filled. Jay D. & Patrick A Powers. There is a huge Family Stone for McKenna and next to that lot is another lot # 282. That one shows James C KcKenna d)1920 a.82
& Isbella McKenna d)1921 a.81. but on the sm stone for her it just shows Mother Isabella
1839-1921.. along with one for James by the Family Stone.. I see that there is a difference in the year she was born 1839 or 1843? and the age doesn't match with the dates. (82) per stone.
The death year is the same so I feel this is your Isabella but want to know first before I post the photo. I also need to take a better photo of the Family Stone.. I was not happy with the one I have, as it's shiny and alot of reflection is shown. I've just started doing the photo requests so learning how to take a good photo of the hard to read ones. any suggestions? Please let me know if you want the photo for Isbella.. Thanks. Charlene

RE: Re: Jas Marsaw grave/pic
Moore Cemetery is now well maintained and easy to navigate, although you know it is old with several unreadable stones. I did not find a tombstone for Elizabeth, but carved on the side of James' monument is "SELINA GRANDAL AGE 72 YRS". Unsure where she fits.

The Lady in Black
some Teifer graves at Mt. Carmel in Michigan
Hi Charlene:

While looking for another grave last week, I came across some Teifers. Are any of these your relatives:

Elizabeth Groh Teifer:

William Richard Teifer:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=69310433

Kipling A. Teifer:

Thomas Wilson Teifer:

William A. Teifer:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=69310761

Let me know, and I'll transfer.

I never did find any stones for the Manores in Section C--I finished photographing the section in December. All I did find was an empty space where I think the graves might be. If you want, next time I go over there I'll take a photo of the spot, just so you can have an idea of where it is. I'd leave the photo request up for now--maybe someone will find them. I've found three that someone else didn't, and others have found ones I couldn't, so there's still hope.

Take care, and HAPPY SPRING!

TLIB

the Hall stones
They were quite worn and difficult to read in person. I'm sorry I couldn't get better photos - these were the best of what I took.

RE: Re: Mary Jane Veder Wells grave photo
You're welcome. Mary Jane's headstone/grave is between Frank, 1873 - 1949, and Lena Wells Fitzgerald, 1884 - 1908. Others family buried there are Baby, Mar 15 -19, 1894, Carrie H, 1870 - 1925, and George B, 1870 - 1941. There is a military headstone for Seth but was difficult to read.

I was able to bring out the image on the stone. If you click on the picture, I have added a caption. Hope this helps. Woodmen of the World appears to be an insurance company.

Grave stone markings
I saw your comment on bringing out the images and info on stones. Another way is to use men's shaving cream and a window squeegee. Use the squeegee lightly and the cream will stick in the holes and bring out the inscription. Be sure to bring a gallon jug of water to rinse off the cream after you take a picture. MJ

RE: Re Hoffman and Frost graves
If you look at Almon's tombstone you will see Florence's sticking out on the left. They appear to be back to back.
I see the circle you are speaking about on Almon's stone. I will try to get back there and see what it says for you, but it's raining today.
More later, MJ.
