RE: Tenant Spencer
I have actually been in the cemetery, and the grave marker is really there. Although the cemetery generally is neglected, there are two areas that are not: Section 200 and the US Naval Asylum Plot. Not only are they not neglected, but the military markers in section 200 appear to have been cleaned and reset recently.

I have someone that is looking for their biological father, the information is leading back to Donald Edward Combs, son of Bedford & Pearl Combs. All that the person have been able to tell me is that his name is Donald Combs from Oakland County, MI the information came back with this Donald, I noticed his family was from Kentucky which is where is prospective daughter lives currently. I was wondering if you have any further information about Donald Combs? You may email at bradl.hobbs@gmail.com

I have added Ruth's stone per request. I also added her photo, her husband Cloid, parents Wm & Anna Swisher and transferred them to you so you can change them as you like. I was not able to link Ruth with her parents but you can. I also have an obituary Ruth and will send it to you if you contact me privately.

RE: Arthur Cobain
Gee, I thought the whole point of findagrave.com was to honor our beloved departed...particularly to share the most well-rounded information we could find on our fallen law enforcement officers. I wasn't actually the one who started adding information to the wall...someone else did and I liked the idea that those who died in the line of duty could be acknowledged in a way that would allow anyone coming upon the Olympia Memorial to know more about those officers. Sorry you don't feel the same.

RE: Arthur Cobain
Since the memorial here in Olympia lists all officers who have died in the line of duty, I felt that memorializing them would perhaps give people who don't know where their particular hero is buried a place to start searching. I've got lots of family that I can't trace just because they aren't listed anywhere on findagrave.

Fred Tomaszek II
John Lewis' headstone
Hi Nancy and William,
I am in the works of planning a vacation to Virginia for my wife and her mother, who are descendants of John Lewis/General Andrew Lewis. Where exactly is John Lewis' gravestone that said he (not in exact words...) "Slew the Irish Lord"?? I see its in Augusta County, but is it by the town of Staunton? Are ther any signs (besides the small one pictured) to his head/gravestone? ANY OTHER info would be immensely appreciated! Have a great day!

Thanks so much, Nancy, for that photo of Sam's headstone! I put a copy of that photo of him and Elmira on his memorial page. Hope you don't mind. Do you have a photo of Elmira's headstone as well?

Julie Watts
RE: sarah tennant morgan
Hi, Nancy.

I don't know if they are connected. My 4th great-grandfather came to the U.S. with 3 brothers and I've never heard mention of a sister or female relative who came with or before them. None of the brothers were ever in Connecticut, but some were in NY and others in PA before going to Ohio.

My Tennants didn't get to the U.S. until around 1800. My 4g-grandfather was b. 1778 and was the oldest of the 4.

If our Tennant families are connected, it must be in Ulster, Northern Ireland or in Scotland. Mine were Scots-Irish from Donegal County, Ulster, Northern Ireland whose father's ancestry supposedly came from around the Tenant River in Scotland.

Some of our Tennants lived in Morgan Co., Ohio, but that's the only "Morgan" I know of in the family.

I was living in Tumwater, WA for a while, very close to Elma.
I also have close up photos of the stones for

Etta May
and
Samuel E.

I didn't post them because there were already photos of the stones posted, but the ones I have are much closer-up. I can mail them to you if you want.
