Permission to use pictures of gravestones
Hi !

I am responsable for Jeanssonska Släktföreningen via Per-Olov Family Tree in MyHeritage.

Have received 48 pages documentation of Jeanssonska Släktföreningen from a jurist Torsten Bäckstrand from Västervik in Sweden. The pages were typewrited 1966-69.

Now I have inserted 24 pages in MyHeritage and meanwhile I have reached many distant relatives outside Sweden. Especially from Minnesota and Illinois, where many Swedes still reside.

The fine keys of finding relatives through Smart Matches and even better Find Graves have helped a lot and encouraged to reach far away from those names in the original 48 pages above.

From the beginning I didn't know much about ancestor seeking, but through my brother and cousine, who have practised for about 10 years, I got inspiration and now I am also stuck to the fascinating task of treebuilding trying to avoid all traps with similar names and dates etc and go through all kind of documentation to ensure the relations and facts are real true.

I appreciate most Find Graves, where You have a tremendous informationtraces. Among them are personphotos, which I include in the persons profile in MyHeritage. If a personphot lacks I insert a gravestone if there is one. The functionality to copy parallell from the Find Grave match to Your own MyHeritage tree is really appreciated.

Recently I noticed I have to ask the person, who inserted a gravestone, to allow me to copy into the profile. In those cases I have NOT copied BUT when I confirm the match ALL photos inserts automatically in the persons profile in MyHeritage. I have tried to remove them from the profile, but then the MyHeritage system asks if I want to cancel the Find Grave match, which is not my desire !

So now I am asking You for permission to use the photos of gravestones You have inserted in Find Graves ?

My intention is, when I have finished to register all 48 pages in MyHeritage, to export to a Gedcom-file and the publish it in Ancestry in order to make it easier to find matches to Jeanssonska Släktföreningen via Per-Olov Family Tree.

THIA !

Best Regards, Per-Olov Sjölund

Whichever you think is best should be fine. I just thought I'd throw it out there since there hadn't been a picture yet and I just happened to notice there was a difference. Thank you for all of your help! :)

RE: Sarah Ann Wright White
Sorry I spoke too quickly. My answer should have been I don't know for certain. The two headstones are not in the same plot but that doesn't necessarily mean there is no connnection. I would suggest you contsct the secratery at St. James and ask if she has a narruage record for Sarah and William White, that should list her parents names. They are very helpfull at St JAmes. The contsvt omformstion csn be found on their website www.stjamesbristol.org..

Arrigan
Dear Bill, a quick question, on the Arrigans, I can see the names on Find a grave are a James Arrigan# 43866859, and a James R. Arrigan # 53884675. Though on the headstone the names are as follows: James R Arrigan and a William D. Arrigan. Did you see the death certificates?? It looks possibly in error, as why would the mother name her sons the same?? Just wondering if you had anymore pertinent info?? Thanks again for any info, really appreicate all the great work!!Nancy

RE: Frank Carsh
Thanks for adding the note, though I agree with you that the original memorial creator DID put him there from a documented reason. I've been having a lot of this kind of problem lately with my photo requests...it must be in the water of oversights or something. Some spiteful people on here don't want me to succeed and want me to look dumb, and want me to look like I'm related to weird people too, which I'm not. I don't doubt Frank Carsh is buried there either. I also don't doubt his triplet boys are buried where they are supposedly buried either, so I just put a note on to keep peace there also when their gravestones weren't found. Oh, I'm related as a 4th maternal cousin to him. Have a great day. ;D

RE: Elizabeth Thomas Cox
Yes Bill, you are right, it is the other way around. Do you know why sometimes you can link to some of the photos/memorials, and other times there is no tab to link family members? I was just hoping to figure out a way (on FindAGrave) to connect Elizabeth Thomas Cox to her daughter, Sara Emma Cox Johnstone......

Every once in a while, I try to dig up something on Catherine Cull. I keep hoping somewhere out there a distant unknown relative will surprise us with more facts about her parents, etc. One can only hope. I love the puzzle to it all!!

My biggest challenge with "mom's" DAR papers are in Michigan, i.e.: few records, and SLOW response time for copies....oh well.

I hope you are well, take care, Connie.
