John O Bartlett
I found on a memorial it said you gave info on the memorial #88193245. I was looking for a Mary Barnes that was married to a John Wesley Bartlett.
Can you help me to know if John O is really John Wesley?

RE: Stanton W Stryker #67959387
I have added the mother/father links. In the future, please send update requests via the "edit" tab then choosing "Suggest a correction or provide additional information".

I am sorry about the photo. There is no way I can remove it since I did not post it. I just take the photos of the stones and post to Find A Grave with a memorial if one is not already created.

The information with the stone is from another member who asked me to add the info to the memorial.

Wish I could have been more help.

Hi Debra,

That's great! Do you know which relative it was for whom they posted the photo?

Thanks again,

Ardath Garnier

Hi Debra,

Yes, Ardath Garnier was my blood great aunt! My grandmother, Ruth (Ranney) Ponsar was her older sister. I remember that Ardath's husband's name was Louis. What is your connection from you to our great aunt Ardath?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I'm glad that your mom lives so close to you!

RE: Robert Ponsar Jr.

Thanks, Debra!

You're right, it's really hot here in the summer. It's in the high 90s today but the humidity is still low - only 10% - so it's manageable. But it gets a little humid in July or August and then it becomes uncomfortable outside. Town becomes very quiet during the summer.

Are we related in any way or are you only related to the Garnier family? There were seven Ranney sisters but only a couple of them had children. My father was the eldest of the children and the only one for many years so he was doted on by all of those women. Grace and Fern had no children, my grandmother only one and Helen two, although one of Helen's died as a teenager. Katherine had two. So that family wasn't very prolific.

I love family trees but since I retired I haven't gotten into it as much as I had planned. But now you've motivated me to get started again.

Take care and hope to be in contact with you again. Where does your mom live?

RE: Robert Ponsar Jr.

Hi Deborah,

I had no idea that you live in San Jose! I live in Palm Springs. For some reason I thought that you lived in Maynard. Do you also keep a family tree on or Now I'm going to look up your father. I'm sorry to hear that he passed away. I think it's even harder when someone passes away on a holiday or someone's birthday. I hope that you're having a nice Memorial Day and please say hello to Gary from me.

Take care,

RE: Robert Ponsar Jr.

Hi Debra,

Your project sounds really exciting! Where do you live?

My name is David Ponsar and my father was Warren Ponsar. Robert Ponsar, Jr. was my dad's father. My father and mother are buried in Communia, Iowa, where Jabob Ponsar, who immigrated from Germany in the 1800s, is buried.

Out here in California these days very few people are buried in cemetery plots. People are usually cremated and the remains are kept by friends or relatives, or they are scattered. Some people do buy niches in mausoleums for the ashes. It's very expensive here to have a traditional burial.

Hope you're having a great Memorial Day weekend!

Keep in touch,
David Ponsar

Hi Debra, I connected my grandfather, Robert, Jr. to my grandmother, Ruth and make some other connections while I was at it! By the way, my father was the only child of Robert Jr. and Ruth and I'm the only child of my parents, so I think that we're at the end of my line. :-) Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I did not know that one could connect graves like this. Have a nice day, David

Edwin C Hall
I was fascinated by your entry on your ancestor Edwin Hall. His granddaughter Emma Davis married my grandfather's uncle, James J Feeley, in 1891. James had "gone west" to Chicago, then Iowa and my grandparents had no idea what became of him. Turns out he was a carpenter with the Chicago & Northwestern RR until his death in 1928.
I too have an ancestor who settled in Flatbush; he was Theodorus Polhemus (1598-1676), a Dutch minister.
Best regards, Karl Voigt
