Jemima Nave Find A Grave Memorial# 99475679
Jemima Nave Find A Grave Memorial# 99475679

Your memorial for Jemima Bowers Nave is in the incorrect cemetery. She is buried in the Nave/Hess Cemetery

Jemima did marry Isaac W Nave, however, in a pension application for their SON, Joel Dunlap Nave (Co H 4th Tennessee Infantry Regiment UNION) she states Isaac is cripple and very infirm, Isaac died at home 25 November 1867. It is questionable this is the correct Isaac Nave serving in the Confederate Army.

Contact us if you would like the pension papers.
Thank you,

Nancy Ellen Scott
Hello. You created a memorial for Nancy, #99891525. I am looking for Nancy E. Conaster Scott, born about 1812, died after the 1880 census. Do you have any information on your Nancy or possibly a photo of her stone? Thank you!

Stephens/Stevens Memorials
Hello Rick,

The following memorials you manage are in the wrong Stephens Cemetery. 97120069, 97119731, 97120142, 97120186.

The correct cemetery is at this link (

It is located near the intersection of Dry Creek Rd & Gap Creek Rd. I took pictures I would like to add.

Thanks for all the great family history work you do. I'm always impressed when I see the memorials you've added

Best Regards,

Isaac Woods
Hi---I visited the cemetery today to locate the graves of Isaac Woods and Cornelius Brushingham. Both were soldiers in Company C of the 59th Tennessee Mounted Infantry, the company being recruited in Carter County. Woods was from Carter County. The cemetery is badly overgrown. I found Woods' grave but not Brushingham's. I would like to volunteer to clean the cemetery if others in the Chinquapin area would like to help---perhaps over the winter.

HI, Rick. Sorry I'm not super familiar with Find A Grave procedures, but I just noticed an incorrect death date on my g grandmother Viola HINKLE LYONS. According to the social security death index, her date of death is 28 Feb 1988. It's not inscribed on her headstone.

Roman Holtsclaw
This is a follow up to the edit I sent you on July 13....

You created a memorial for Sheila Holtsclaw and just because her husband's name was on the tombstone, and even though there is no date of death for him, you went ahead and created a memorial page for her husband Roman....Seriously??

Maybe I need to call Roman and tell him that he has an entry on F.A.G.

Please delete the memorial page for Mr Holtsclaw who is alive and well....

Mother memorial link for Elbert Blair
Someone has linked an inaccurate memorial for Elbert Blair's mother. Some lady from NY. His mother was Susanah Roark Blair and I assure you they lived in KY. I'll send the correct memorial link.

Williams Cemetery
I have just found your information on all the graves in the Williams Cemetery, Valley Forge comm. in Elizabethton, Tn. My mother and father are listed and I noticed their date of marriage is incorrect. Glenn and Betty Williams ( both died in 2006) marriage yr was 1967 instead of 1976. Thank you for all the great information. I do not know many of my family that still lives, so this had really gave me some great info for our graveyard committee.

Sara R
Rachel Frazier Woods question
The record for Rachel Woods (Sullivan Co., TN) lists her parents and references her death certificate as source of the names. Do you have a copy of that death certificate? I am working with her descendants on DAR applications, and a copy of that document will be invaluable.
Thanks so much for your help.

Rick, I have downloaded the picture and also sent an edit to you for the plot, although I do not know the exact plot number, I gave you the section of the cemetery that it is in as Elan has 16 sections. John

Eliza A Estep
Hi Rick, I was looking at your memorial for Eliza A Estep (Memorial# 107413919). If you enlarge it & look closely, I think the memorial is instead for an Eliza A Stout.

Parents -- H.D. & E. Stout. I found an Eliza A Stout, born abt 1842, in the 1850 census for Carter County, TN living with her parents Henry D & Elizabeth.

Thought you'd want to know. Thanks for all the memorials you've added. I'm sure it gets a little tedious at times & mistakes are bound to happen!

Rick, I try to help people as much as possible. The rules originally said no aunts or uncles but they don't shoot you if you do. I have had people who have been members for less than a year ask for (believe it or not) a relative, they think.
They don't care if the person is a relative or not. One had around one thousand names they had entered, but they had over two thousand they were looking out for.
Which meant to me they had been getting a lot of transfers.
I have transferred your uncle and did not mind doing so. Good luck with F.A.G.
I have enjoyed my time working with it.
