|Donna ||RE: Pearl Hesters|
Dear Victoria, I added a photo of the beautiful angel statue to Pearl's page. It was dedicated in the mid-1990s to all those buried on the grounds. The woods where most are buried are lovely and peaceful...sorry I couldn't find more. Best, Donna

|Rox||A G Register|
I read a comment regarding AG Green having married Elizabeth Blankenship. I am researching an Elizabeth Blankenship who may have married my GGGrandfather Morgan Poole by 1880. I discovered that she had also married an A Green Register in 1770. Do you have any idea what may have happened to her? The mystery is driving me crazy.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

The only way we would be connected would be I'm the one that put the memorial on the website. I was doing that for a while but haven't been much involved lately. You can make a reccomendation for me to add it or send me a request and I could transfer the memorial to you to maintain.

|Donna ||Central State Hospital|
Thanks for getting back so soon, and for your kind offer. It was really sad...not just the mentally ill or developmentally disabled went there, but alcoholics and other social "deviants" (like a woman who bore a child out of wedlock or left an abusive husband). My cousin's high school classmate and her husband worked there for a while and so kindly gave us a tour of the premises. My great-grandpa, William Virgil Homer Armistead, survived the Civil War to walk home from Appomattox to northern Georgia and later succumbed to alcoholism and his violent memories. They didn't know how to treat PTSD back then. We didn't find his marker (burial #1774, I think) among the ones they retrieved and relocated, so he must be somewhere out there with Pearl. In the woods we found several of the iron markers poking slightly out of the ground, but not enough to see. I'm sure our relatives, though, appreciate the fact that we remember and care enough to seek them. There is a beautiful angel statue on the premises, of which I can send you a photo. Best wishes!

Thank you for the correct information!!!
No, I never met your Grandmother. Like I said I am only very distantly related. I'm glad to hear she was a fantastic lady though! Thanks again, melissa

|Donna ||Pearl Hesters|
Dear Friend, My cousins and I were just at this cemetery a few days ago, looking unsuccessfully for my great-grandfather's grave. I don't remember seeing a grave for Pearl. If you had a burial number for her it might help; however, many of the iron markers were relocated to a park on the site and some have not been dug up. I'll be happy to send a photo of the cemetery if you like, once I get home to Michigan. Regards, Donna

Hi, I was hoping that you could tell me if one of Ruby's husbands last name was Giffen or Griffen? I have seen it spelled both ways in records and I would like to have the correct name for my family tree. Ruby is only very distantly related to me (4th cousin once removed) Thanks for any help. Melissa Finch

It's been quite a while since we've messaged each other but I was hoping you'd remember our past conversation right off the bat.
To jog both of our memories, I messaged about your knowing Samuel Boe Arnold's wife Lucille's maiden name. You mentioned that your aunt had children buried in the same cemetery and that you were curious as to why the burial record say NMN, which I take to mean No Middle Name.
It would be really helpful and awesome if you were able to locate the cemetery at this point in time.

After I uploaded the photos, I sent a request via their memorial EDIT tabs asking the memorial creators to link Helen and James as husband and wife. You may want to check their memorials periodically to see if it gets done.

|Robert Cushing||Cuzzy Browning Wynn|
Are you related to Cuzzy Browning Wynn (buried in the Lowery Cemetery, Laurens County, GA)? She is the sister of my great-great-grandmother (Sarah Virginia Browning McDaniel). I have not been able to find much information on Cuzzy until now. How are you connected?

Just a short note to let you know that the actual spelling should be Jesse Peyton Stewart. One e at the end of Jesse and an e instead of a in Peyton.

Put her a memorial there and then do a pic request. Maybe someone will find her, the volunteers do try hard to find them! Cat

I know that Ensley Dilaard did a survey in 2000 and I'm working with some people at the Cook Co Historical society I can ask if she is listed in any of those survey records. I'll answer when I get an answer...Cat

Would you be interested in maintaining this record since you are related? I do know some of the people related to the Livingston's but I am just a friend. Thank You, I was glad to be able to do this.

In response to your request for a picture of a marker for Polly Currie Gosnell.
I have obtained the following information from the caretaker and my visit to the cemetery.
There is a plot of 4 people but only 1 marker - which is listed in Find a Grave. The marker is for
Mamie L Currie
Died Oct 4, 1960
The other 3 burial plots have no markers.
Polly Currie Gosnell
Born: Aug 26, 1938
Died: June 9, 2002
Willie Robert Currie
Born: Sept 20, 1900
Died: April 16, 1990
Willie Preston Currie
Born: April 10, 1932
Died: July 1969
The plots are located on the west end of the cemetery, lot 55.
I will post additional pictures under Mamie L Currie.
Hope this helps in your search.

I came across a website with an interactive plot of Tug Hill Cemetery, where you can click on the plot and a transcription and an image of each tombstone. The pictures on the website were taken when it was a little easier to read the tombstones.
Hope this helps!

Searched the cemetery today without success. There were others there named Spivey but not William. Lots of graves without markers or not legible. I'll try to return after talking to the church folks.

You are VERY welcome.
Did you see the other Sconiers from the same cemetary?
I found more at another cemetary when I was searching for another persons request.
They will be uploaded to the
Piney Grove Cemetary (still in Whalton Co).
I'll try to upload soon.
