Al, I would like to contact this person but their message has been turned off.
She has a family member I would like to see if she would transfer to me. Can you put her in touch with me?

RE: Basil W Cross

I located the expired listing and sent a message to the seller about the picture. He is going to put me in touch with the person who purchased it to see if s/he might be interested in selling it. Here is a link to the expired listing -you'll have to scroll down to see the actual listing.

On the Trail
RE: Basil W Cross

Thanks for your reply. Here is a link that will take you to all the info I have gathered so far.

The picture posted there was listed for sale on Ebay. IT was identified by the seller as John R Cross of 113th Ohio. Note there were two John R Cross from Ohio who both served in the Union Army during the Civil War. As I have Cross ancestry, I copied the image and have just now made any headway in researching him. Unfortunately, the listing has now ended and I didnt save it, but I did copy the picture. The listing might be found by searching Ebay for ended listings?

Please let me know how this man fits in with your Cross ancestry - if he does. Thanks so much.

Basil W Cross

I found your memorial for Basil W Cross b. 1812. Did Basil have a son John R Cross that was a Lieut in the 113th Ohio Infantry?

Hi Al, YOu have two photo's of the same headstone. You might consider removing one so family has space to add a picture of the person. Just a thought. Thank you for your kindness shown towards our families this year, Wendy

Thanks for reposting your photo from the older Find A Grave entry to the newer one, I see you found the duplicate entry in the same cemetery. You also transferred to me, Elma Jane Slough Seeley's memorial to me. Thanks so much for doing that.

You posted a grave photo on memorial 6814230
The date of death wasn't completed, and I believe the memorial holder may no longer be active to make the edit corrections. In the meantime, another individual entered the same individual, with a bio, photos (entered as a grave rather than as a person) and there are family connections. Based on the newer entry, I would like to see your photo posted on the newer entry. If you would do that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to photograph the tombstone. Yes it is difficult to make out the inscription.

Charles and Mary Sherman
Thank you for adding the Charles Sherman stone photo to his memorial. Odd that the library wouldn't have the location when there is a stone. I have added Mary Sherman's DC copy to her memorial and it clearly says burial in Elkland. Are there no cemetery records to indicate locations for those earlier burials?

Arthur Fitch Photo
Dear Mr. Cross,

Thank you so much for taking a photo of the grave marker for this man. A small group of us are trying to make sure that every Michigan fireman who lost his life in a duty-death has a memorial at Find A Grave.Arthur Fitch was one of them, and your work has made his memorial complete. I appreciate the time and effort you took to help us.

Hi Al, thanks for pointing out my error in noting Lila Arroyo as 'Lilly' who listed my Barriger family information on a database about his family tree. I appreciate you letting me know that I misspelled her name, it has been corrected on the memorial page. Warmly, Helen
