Are you the same who owns the ancestry A Driscoll/Jackson tree?

I just added obits and burial locations to Stanley and his family. If they are your relatives, I will transfer memorial ownership.

I plan on photographing the tombstones as soon as we get some good weather.

It sure would be nice to have family pictures added.

Feel free to use whatever I have posted.

I'd be glad to except I don't know which ones. I have quite a few Driscolls. If you want all of them, that's OK to. I'd rather see relatives own them anyway. I can always send you updates. Tell me which ones and they'll be yours. Just promise you will add some memories, pictures, or whatever. Always glad to share....Rick in Taunton

Driscolls in Taunton area
More to come.

I'm doing a Taunton Catholic Cemetery Project with our local Historical Society.

I'll gladly transfer Driscolls to you if you want, and then I'll send you updates as I get them. Any stories and/or pictures you can add would be great.

Hi Cathy -- I don't have any other information regarding the Jacksons in Sutton, but here's a link to the 1850 census of Sutton:

Ordways in Chelsea
While reading about my own family I came across this excerpt from the History of Chelsea VT.
Basically MORE Ordway tragedy...1 town over from Tunbridge:

Joel W. ORDWAY, son, of Oliver, was born in Tunbridge in 1809. He married Sophronia, daughter of Jeremiah and Mary A. (COBURN) GOODHUE, of Berlin, Washington county, in 1840, and reared four sons and two daughters, as follows: George B. served in Co. G, 2d Vt. Vols., and now lives in Maine; Henry A. served in Co. B, 4th Vt. Vols., and died in the service December 21, 1861; Charles H. was a member of Co. C, 8th Vt. Vols., and after the expiration of his term of service engaged in bridge building, and was drowned at Bolton, Vt., in 1869; Francis died from injuries received while employed on a railroad in 1880; Mary (Mrs. Samuel STEARNS) resides in Tennessee, and Ellen (Mrs. William G. BUMPS) in Lowell, Mass. At the age of twenty-three years Mr. ORDWAY had the misfortune to lose his sight by the premature explosion of a blast. He settled in this town in 1860, where he died in 1874. Mrs. ORDWAY resides in Chelsea village, on Maple street.

RE: Ordway Cemetery
I've never had to deal with the clerk there.
Hours are funky at ALL town clerk offices around here.
Give her/him until Monday to reply. If you don't hear anything I will go over.
I have actually had to put my requests in writing to the town of Vershire and Barnard (even though I live right between the two) They have no EMAIL (Ludites)!
But once I sent the letter I got response (and a bill for 2.44 from the town of barnard for a copy and a stamp!)

RE: Ordway Cemetery
Do you think any of these are your relatives?
It is a very private plot (on someones long driveway - They were not home when I drove up to the house to turn around. Whew) Also...about 1/2 mile from this Cemetery is Ordway Road!
Let me know if you hear anything and if you don't I will be GLAD to go over and ask for you. I've found some town halls are VERY kind and receptive to requests and other just plain ignore them.
Your Sleuth...

Ordway Cemetery
I have found, photographed and added the Ordway Cemetery in Tunbridge.
You can find it in Vermont, Orange Co.
There are only 12 or so graves that are legible. Some are replacement stones.
There are many more small markers with no visible inscriptions.
I did my best to get the inscriptions too.
So if any of these are YOUR Ordway family, let me know and I will transfer them to you.
Have a great night!

RE: found it!
oh! brush with greatness! and maybe the only thing I remember from 7th grade history class!
My dad is a retired State Trooper from Delaware. (retired at 43...20 years ago!)He is more impressed with this research than my inventor husband (who might be impressed with Moses grave now!)

One problem is that I have to break it to my VERY IRISH dad that he is not so Irish anymore. When he sees the Louzon's & Kuntzman's only 2 generations out he may disown me! or I may fudge a Mc in front of Kuntzman...McKuntzman...nope. wont fly.
Have a good night and I will keep you posted on what I find.

RE: found it!
I really enjoy this.
Ordway Cemetery is only 10 miles from my home.(a quick left and right off the trip home from work) I might even try to swing tomorrow if I can skip out early (anything to avoid work these days!)
Are there any Ordway's in particular you are seeking? I imagine that this is a small family plot with ALL Ordways. I will snap pix of what I can find. It's freezing back up tonight so stepping on the ground shouldn't be an issue.
This makes me feel like a detective! and who DOESN'T want to be a detective?

RE: Tempy Ordway
No bother at all! I saw that too and it made me a bit sad... Very different style stones too. But right next to each other. I looked for a time line of the towns history on-line to see if there was an epidemic or fire but could not find anything.

Also...I believe their is an Ordway Cemetery in town that was in use from 1813-1893. I will look into that now.

I love the hunt!

Hi Cathy,

If you'd like me to transfer those memorials to you, I'd be happy to. They are not related to me, I only entered the transcription of records.

I also submitted your relative John Ordway to the website for their virtual cemetery. They will post it in a few days.

I can't transfer because someone else entered the data and I just added photos...soooo...if you wanted to 'manage' your Ordways' you would have to contact the person who entered the data. I don't know her. But most folks out here in the cyber-cemetery are pretty easy going.

I will send you a zipped email attachment of the stones.

WOW! we have lots of mines around here (I own part of one!) I wonder where he worked..
here is the weird one...if it was Grampa Moses...check out the art on his stone! its broken chains!
I'll start transferring your family to you now.
I uploaded all I found today. I will go back and look for more.
Librarians up here are great(bored I think).
I brought Margaret (my dog) with me today (she only has 3 legs) the hill was quite the haul for her and now she is sacked out chasing bunnies!
enjoy...and I'll keep on the hunt!

So I found your Benjamin. I am also uploading all the other ORDWAY's alongside him.
I will gladly transfer them to you if you wish.

I'd love to help!
Soon as snow melts a bit or worst case...spring firms up! Tunbridge is one town over! I will save this email. I wont claim it so someone else has the chance to get there ahead of me. But as soon as its feasible I will claim up if no one has!
Glad to be your servant!
