Billy John Cook
Bobby - you have an open photo request for Billy John Cook, Perry Cemetery, Carrollton, TX. I was going to try to help as I see others have. Based on the problem reported, I did some research. This website lists all "known burials" in Perry Cemetery.

Billy John Cook is indeed buried there but no marker exists. I see other Cooks buried there with no marker. I am going to assume some object was used to mark the grave that was of a material that did not last.

Sorry amigo!

A.L. McCarley grave
I am a great great grand daughter of Amaziah and Mary McCarley and wondered if you could email me a high resolution image of the headstone you photographed. You did a great job and I don't know if I will ever be able to visit the cemetery myself...

Thanks so much!

RE: memorials moved
YES SIR! No I am not kin, just grew up around the Meadows' living in the village in Grantville. I still count Grantville as my home although I may never live there again. My Mom & Dad died at the house on Middle Street my senior year of high school. A few years ago, an older couple accidentally burned the house down.

RE: memorials moved
I moved the one's I had pics in my files that I put on there. One question, Sallie Maud Smith, couldn't figure out if she stays in John or goes to Samuel? There are a lot of dups in both, especially that I moved mine. Whom ever got Find A Grave to combine the two cems is the one who messed them up. You know I put some of mine on as far back as 2007. I have more unknowns than are on either cem. Let me know if anything else needs done.

Bobby, I finally got around to transferring all of the memorials I created for JCM to you. I never did any work at SM cem as I discover the impending "mess" before I got started. I hope this helps you.

RE: Garrett Family Cemetery

I've never visited the cemetery. The information was given to me by the late Miss Nell Orr of LaFayette, who was a GG-granddaughter of the Garretts. She had photographs (made in the early 1970s) of the marble slabs that covered the graves. The old Garrett home was also nearby, and partially covered with kudzu. I hope you can get GPS coordinates of the location. Also, she wasn't sure if the cemetery was in Georgia or Alabama, because the Garrett place was in both states.

Cemetery confusion
Well, a mess has been made and I contributed to it. Find A Grave has two Meddas cemeteries listed in Grantville, as that is how the Google maps, and older topo maps list them. I should have run a few names thru the search first to see where they turn up, but didn't. I looked for other cemeteries and didn't find anything. so the one in the interstate interstate, John C Meadows, I completely photo-ed and copied. I had a bad feeling It was duplicated somewhere, but I could not find it. The Samuel Meadows cemetery appears under this cemetery name

and no listings at all under this one....

The John C Meadows cemetery is set up here and I filled it out..

and you and others have it set up here, but without photos on may graves.

Anyhow, give me a call and lets see if we can get this straightened out. One thing I have discovered is that Find A Grave is very tough to convince that a cemetery is named anything other than what is on Google and the Topo maps.

Possibly I can simply upload my pics to your cemetery (as you have more through bios) and they do a request to Find A Grave to delete the unneeded one after everything is "aligned".

I'm in Luthersville seven seven oh, nine two seven, eighteen ninety three is the phone.

RE: Dr. William Yancy Dawson
Thanks, the Dr and Nina were her son and daughter according to the 1910 census. The others I don't know.

RE: Dr. William Yancy Dawson
I have added the tombstone photo for William Yancy Dawson he is not the Dr. I was referring too. The stone with the Dr on it belongs to a Dr. C Dewitt Dawson he is one of the four buried around that larger Dawson Stone along with (1) Nina Dawson ORR 1898--1999, (2) DR. C. Dewitt Dawson 1894--1981, (3) William Yancy Dawson 1861--1936 and of course (4) Lena Meadows Dawson 1868-1931. That information is what the Stone reads I have those photo's as well if you make memorials I will add them.

In another area I found a few more Dawson not sure if they are your relatives.. the names are Myrtle Elizabeth Dawson 1888-1960, C Marie Dawson 1907-2004, and a E.E. Dawson D.D.S. 1919-1984 Veteran W.W. II. I have those photo's as well. :)

Robin (Cottingham) Townsend-Fife
Lida Hill Meadows
She was already attached as husband to Leon Renfroe Meadows by someone else. The system won't let me make any changes unless Lida is removed by the other person. Then I can enter Lida & Louise in the correct order. I added a not in the Bio section of Leon's memorial saying he married Lida first and Louise second Let me know if there is anything I missed.

RE: Leon Renfro or Renfroe Meadows
I'm researching the Burch and Blackwell family that Lida comes down from. She's in my Burch book and I just looked on family search and put his name in google and he's on wikipedia too. Are you directly related or a cousin? I've got 3 children with Lida before she died. They are also on family search.

Leon Renfro or Renfroe Meadows
I just found his death certificate and draft card on family search and it has his middle name as Renfroe. I thought it was Rufus. Thank you for finding his gravesite. He's in my Burch book and I hate having things wrong.

Susan Meadows Buckner
Hello Bobby,

I appreciate the good information found on the find a grave for Susan Meadows Buckner. If indeed she was a Meadows then she probably was Isham Meadows Jr. daughter. What I would like to know is how did you attach the name Meadows to her? It looks like her stone does not mention her maiden name. Can you tell me how you determined she was a Meadows? Thank you. I look forward to your response. You can send directly to me email address if you would like. It is

John Reese
