RE: Hazel Iles
Ms. Coen--that would be wonderful! There are two Hazel Iles in my family--my mother, Hazel Eugenia Iles (1923-2001), and my grand aunt, Hazel Gertrude Iles (1893-1934). Thank you very much!
Best, John Paul Woodley, Jr.

This is not just a grave .These people were my family they were murdered . We have been through enough without finding pictures of their headstone online. please take them down ,and let them rest in peace and who ever CJ is why do you have paper clipping of them? Their murder remains unsolved.

Hi,

You posted some great pictures to this memorial.

Could I suggest you go back and upload them as photos of a person rather than as pictures of gravemarkers?

This helps with the order they appear, and also will add the memorial to those that appear on the little "Honoring" ad.

Regards,
Dawna

Can you tell me how I would put in a request? I know very little about how findagrave works.
Thanks.

If you don't know any other findagravers who live close and might be going to that cemetery soon I will of course gladly wait until the next time you go. Thank you so much for all that you do. I am so thankful for all the info I have found on my ancestors thanks to you and all the other volunteers who go out and take these pictures and then create memorial pages for total strangers. What you do for us reseachers is such a blessing.

RE: Artigue's #71703076
Thanks for responding. Do you know any others on findagrave who live close to that cemetery? This is such a puzzle and I am like a dog with a bone, ya know? I want so badly to connect these people if they are relatives and I truly feel that they are.
Thanks,
Tootz

Artigue's #71703076
Chere,
I am researching distant Artigue relatives and came across your picture of the Artigue headstone #71703076. it has 4 names on it. Are you going to be going back to the Saint Louis Cemetery Number #3 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish any time soon? I would love to know what else is written on that headstone as I can't see it clearly and I think there is more info there if you look at real close perhaps you can see some more info that didn't get put on the people mentioned on the headstones memorial pages? Let me know if it is possible for you to visit there again or if you know someone else on findagrave.com who lives near there and could go and look closer.
Thanks so much,
Tootz

RE: Percy Follow-up
Percy was my late husband's 1st cousin 2x removed.

It is a branch of the family without contacts as my husband's father was illegitimate. If he had carried his father's name rather than the mother's, our last name would now be Cazeaux.

I followed the family on down some more this morning and found the celebrity connection. Wish my husband were here to share the new info.

I looked at another Staehling birthday party and it was held mid week on the exact date. This really implies Percy's birthday was May 26, 1901.

Percy Staehling
Hi,

You sent a birth update for Percy Staehling (Memorial# 69130178) of May 1901. I have that date in my genealogy records as an unconfirmed date without reliable sources.

Do you have something that proves this is correct?

Many folks use Find A Grave for genealogy research, and information placed here, if incorrect, will eventually be accepted as fact so I hesitate to enter information without a reliable source.

Thanks,
Dawna

RE: Lanelile Karcher McLoon Seghers
Hey Chere-

Well, I got curious and went back to my notes (It is, by the way, difficult to get into Odd Fellows Cemetery. It is run by the "Odd Fellows" group and the gates are usually chained. It is also a very dangerous area of the city, as many of these old cemeteries are, with a high wall surrounding it. You almost need an armed guard to safely enter.) On the tomb her name read: "McLoon Laneile Karcher wife of C.E. Seghers, Jr. Granddaughter-in-law of Ed D. Seghers." There are no other Karchers listed but a couple of Seghers who are apparently intermarried with Williams' and Boyds.

WOW! Thanks for bringing that colossal jumble to my attention. I really do have to stop doing this stuff at 3a.m.!

Thanks!
