I haven't forgotten, just have had no time to follow up with a visit to the library.

Thanks for the correction, I have made the changes, The reason I listed it in the City Cemetery is that was what his obit stated. Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction. Marsha

I wasn't able to make it to the library. If you can tolerate my slowness I will get back to you when I'm able to follow up on them. Sorry for the delay.

RE: Taliaferro
I will followup on your question with a visit to my local library where I saw the book I mentioned. I won't be able to go until next week though. We'll figure this one out.

Taliaferros in Fredericksburg Cemetery
The information on their burial locations came from a published volume of family Bible records on Caroline County families. It included some obituaries in the Taliaferro portion which is where I extracted my notes.

source for info on John was the Library of Va. I changed his and Benj. burial to Unknown. they are probably buried there in unmarked graves.

Hi! Thank you for the info. I have moved her to the confederate cemetery. Happy Holidays! Pat

I asked you the other day to move these
Hi! I am not always on the computer every day and findagrave allows 30 days to make changes. Be patience. Thank you. Pat

Hi, I asked you the other day to move these, and now I've confirmed that they ARE in the Confederate Cemetery, in fact, they are in Section 8, Lot 146. He is in grave #3 and she is in #4. This is from Robert Hodge's book "Citizen Burials in the Fredericksburg Confederate Cemetery". You can add that when you fix the Cemetery listing. Thanks, Florence

RE: Locating a grave
Hi Florence,
Yes I am family. She is my GGGGrandmother. Lewis Bowling was the caretaker at the cemetery for many years. Do you have any suggestions on how I might find death certificates for his mother and his father? I have had no luck. If you want to transfer the grave to me, that would be fine.
Thank you,

RE: Locating a grave
Hi Florence,
I was wondering if you were able to find out any more information on the grave of Lewis' mother and if possible there, is there anything on his father, William Finch Bolling (Bowling).Their names appear on Lewis and Dorothy's marriage certificate in 1871. I don't know if that necessarily means they were alive.

Thank you,

Oh, thank you so much! I wrote the lady that I couldn't do anything for a week or so anyway, so that will be wonderful. I'll put a sticky note on here so I don't forget to call you!

Locating a grave
Hi Florence,
I posted a request for a photo and Janet Ginlesperger responded. She said she is willing to take a photo and that maybe you could assist us in locating this grave. I thank you for any help you can give. I live in Calif and I'm having a difficult finding the graves and obituaries for my family (Bowling, Lewis, Dolan). To know exactly who this Mrs. bowling is would be a great help.

My initial request is below:
Plot: Section 11, unmarked
I would really appreciate any help given on this grave. Lewis Scott Bowling  was my great great grandfather and I have been trying to find any information on his parents.  This grave might help me. I would love to have a photo of this grave. If you run across any information such as an obituary or something on record at the cemetery when getting this photo, could you pass it on?

Elizabeth Walker
According to a record I have from the funeral home, Elizabeth Walker was born Feb. 10, 1852 in Culpeper Co., Va. It gives her father as Robert Tyson of Culpeper Co. and her mother as Lucy Pilcher of Culpeper Co.

Mrs. Patterson
My earlier message said that Mrs. Patterson was first married to a Thomas Going, that was wrong. Her first husband was William Going. Sorry

Mrs. Patterson
I'm searching for my 9th great grandmother. Her first name is Catherine. Catherine's first marriage was to a Thomas Going. She married a Mr. Patterson. The only info I have is that she married Patterson and her burial is in Virginia. I'm hoping there is more info about Mrs. Patterson. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you, Dawn

Old Waco
Cottage Green
Dear Florence:
Thank you for this info. on Cottage Green.

The reason I asked about Cottage Green is that in the Bible records of William Wiatt and his son, Francis Julian Wiatt, there are the following references:

"Phebe Wiatt born on Saturday the 26 November 1785 between ye Hours of 2 & 3 In the Morning at her Grandmother Julian[']s.---Died 6 March 1837 In her 52nd year."

Phebe Wiatt My only Sister departed this Life on Monday the 6th day of March 1837 after a short illness which she bore with much resignation and I hope her end was Peace in the Lord---her remains were deposited behind the Garden & her Funeral & religious Rites did not take Place till the day of---by the Revd Mr. Ward Aged 51 years 3 Months & 8 days"

I do not know what garden she was possibly buied in, but perhaps at Cottage Green.

I thought you might like to see the additional info. that I placed on his site.
I sent a copy of Elizabeth W. Wiatt's obit. to the person who has her site to hopefully post.
Please let me know if a grave marker for Francis Julian Wiatt is discovered.
