Photo requests
Thanks for fulfilling the photo requests I posted; I think we have a common goal of trying to document/photo each individual souls place of rest. While it is a daunting task, it's volunteers like you coming together to make it happen. THANKS!

RE: Gordon Martin
I tried to update Gordon's site with birth and death dates etc . . and it said that edits are pending from you, so I'll let you get that info to Karen. She's a really nice lady who has done MUCH of Riverside Cemetery - bless her heart. She said that it was a "quest" for her . . . but then moved away, so I hope to be able to pick up where she left off and get the whole place done. So, I had said in earlier message that I would do the edits, but I will leave it up to you to update Gordon's site. I have another photo request from Riverside, so I'll give cousin Gordon a smile and nod, when I pass by . . . now that I KNOW where he is. LOL Take care and God bless.

re: Gordon Martin
Hey - I went online to the city/county website and found out some info. I printed and scanned it, as I couldn't figure out how else to get it to you. It gives WAY MORE information, than Karen has on his memorial, so I will send her that information, so that she can update his site. I also will call Smith Funeral Home soon and ask if there is an obituary to be had. And, if that doesn't work, I have a list of obits I want to look up at the library on one of my days off. I took some photos at Riverside and made memorials, and I'd like to find some of the obits, if I can, so I will look for Gordon at the library too, if Smith can't help. The Gazette only keeps them online for 10 yrs, so I've heard. So, I will do my best to find out what I can. Note that on the photo that I'm sending you, it lists his son, I would imagine at an address here. Wonder if you could write to him there and find out something. Hope this helps, and I will help however I can. God bless! And - PS, I am sending that picture of the file to your email listed on here, so check it for my email . . . from smiley

RE: Gordon Martin
Of course! You use it any way that you would like. I'm so glad that I was able to find Gordon for you. I took my grandchildren, and we searched and searched for Gordon to no avail. I had no idea that it is a county/city cemetery and plot info is easily found online, so we did a foot search for a long time. It was a great experience for me and the grands. I had a list of "photos needed" with me, and my 10 yr old grandson and I were checking the list and taking photos. We had looked and looked, and my grandson said, "Here is Gordon Martin, Nana". We were both thrilled, as HE was the reason that we were at the cemetery in the first place.
How are you related? Riverside is an ill kept cemetery, and I think I was sent there for a reason. I called the city to complain about overgrowth and will not rest until they take better care of that place. Many graves are hardly visible anymore with grass growing over the top of them. I will make it my job to get our church or some Boy Scout troop to help me tidy it up. so - it was truly our pleasure, and I'm glad that we could help.

No don't need a transfer. It was their son who married into the extended family I trace. I just like to see as much correct info on a memorial as possible so I always try to get info added for the parents of spouses who married into the family when I get a chance. Thanks for the photos of their grave.
