Hi! Regarding your photo request, can you please contact the cemetery and obtain the Section, Lot, and Grave Number information, and then post it to your request? Please also ask if there is a grave marker and add that information to your photo request and/or memorial. The Find A Grave FAQs state the photo requestor is responsible to provide this information.

Elmwood Cemetery: (708) 453-0273

This cemetery provides extremely limited assistance to photo volunteers with finding a grave's location. Last year I was able to fulfill almost 200 photo requests at Elmwood through this process. Because the lots in this cemetery are poorly marked, almost no one else ever photographs here. I have only had success here because I have spent literally weeks at a time to learn the intricacies of the layout of this cemetery.

Thank you for helping me to help you.

just to let you know, we have about a foot and a half of snow and very cold weather. I don't think any one will be able to find graves at this time. You might have to wait till spring.

You are so sweet! Thank you for such a nice message. People like you are the reason that I love taking photos. Just makes me want to get out and do some more!

Thank you for the nice words. I did not take the photo - I only post it. Please check the caption by clicking on the photo to see the information about the photographer. She photographed that complete cemetery and we are slowly getting them all posted on Find-a-Grave.

Debbie, I apologize for my failure to periodically check messages at findagrave and other locations where I am registered. Your requests in 2012 were repeated but I just found them today for the first time. I am limited, without my children here to help me, to send a lot of photos, but I am having all of my (9 sibling's) (21 children) updates of the Henry James Jenner book that I published in 1988 to where they now are in 2013. I am 90 years old and I have no idea how many I have left, but I plan to send you a completed update of Wallace Jenner (1-4 family) and the Henry Harlan Jenner (1-6 family) if God will let me before I die. I am still in good health and I have outlived all of my siblings except Evelyn and I will catch up with her around this time next year. In the meantime before my son, Mark Jenner gets back to see me, I will send you a few pictures that I have in my computer that I know how to send. Gerald Jenner.

A second attempt to photograph photo requests at Lakewood Memorial Park with complete Section and Lot information posted will be made in October. Please help your photo volunteers to help fulfill your request by obtaining the information requested below. Thank you!

A visit to Lakewood during this past weekend revealed that the care of the cemetery, other than mowing the lawn, is almost nonexistent. Approximately 3/4ths of the graves need trimming in order to read the name and/or date on the grave marker. Some graves are almost completely invisible until you walk right up to them. The only graves that looked tended to are those that were from recent burials or those that individual families were maintaining. I did not see one in-ground lot marker to help locate a cemetery lot.

If you hope that a photo volunteer will ever be able to fulfill your photo request(s) at Lakewood, please contact the cemetery to get the section and lot information for your photo request(s) and post the information to the online memorial. Walking the grounds to find someone is currently pointless with so many names covered up. Finally, in light of the current state of the cemetery, asking the office staff if there is a grave marker and asking them to e-mail you a map of where the grave is located would greatly help your photo volunteer. RE: Frank Lional Dawson #2

As follow up to my prior message, I will try to get in contact with cemetery administrator this week to verify that Mr. Dawson is interred in Diamond Lake and if the cemetery has had a history of vandalism.

Hi Deborah,

I checked the specific plot and his headstone is not there. I found others that were listed for that plot area but not his. I also walked the entire cemetery twice looking for it with no luck. There are several open spaces where he should be which leads me to believe his headstone may have been a victim of the elements or vandals.

RE: George W Cowdery
Hello. I uploaded a photo for John Cowdery that I took yesterday. As you can see it is on the end of George's monument. I'm afraid it's too dark due to the shade. I will try to get a better one when I am back over there. If you would like to manage Susan and John Cowdery memorials, I will gladly transfer them to you. Just let me know.
Have a good evening.

I do pictures for FindAGrave and you have requested one or more pictures in a Bay County cemetery. Unfortunately the cemetery where the tombstone is located is not indexed in a public forum. If you could contact the cemetery and get your loved one's location—section and row or plot—I will attempt to fulfill your request. You can locate an address, email or phone number by googling the cemetery's name or by checking the Bay GenWeb site at
As you can appreciate I'm not able to walk the whole cemetery for you.

Info for Paul Butler
Hi! Can you please call or e-mail the cemetery and ask for the Section, Lot, and Grave numbers and then add this information to the online record? This helps the photo volunteers to find the grave marker.

Elmwood is a huge cemetery and this information is needed in order to fulfill your request. I have located more than 50 graves at Elmwood for Find A Grave, but I cannot find a grave for you without the burial plot information.

Thank you! Ace
