RE: Cunningham - Pyles Cemetery
Good to hear from you. Please send me an email and when I get home from work I will send you the GPS location. Unfortunately the grave you are looking for is not marked. There is other info you will need and I will send that with the location.
Best of luck

Lydia Wood James
Picture of Levi Stroud Craddock
Hello!
I was very shocked and excited this morning to see that you had posted a photo of Levi Stroud Craddock to his findagrave listing. Levi was the older brother of my great-great grandfather, Edmund Dillard Craddock. I have never seen any pictures from that side of the family, and was even more shocked to see that you found it at an estate sale. It always saddens me when I see other peoples family pictures in antique shops and estate sales, but you never want to think that anyone from your family would have their pictures suffer such a fate (even though you are worried that might be why you can't find many family pictures). Do you still have the picture? Were there any others with it? Assuming you have no family connection, I would be interested in possibly reclaiming the picture for the Crqddock family. Unfortunately, Craddock descendants are not as numerous as they used to be, and it sounds like one of Levi's last descendants must have died recently.

Thank you soooo very much for saving the photo from oblivion! So many pictures end up in sales because they aren't labeled, and even if they are people don't take the initiative to find them. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Lydia James

Lois B Hollingsworth
Hello Hunter, I wanted to give you an update for Lois B Hollingsworth. Her Father was Edward Moman and her Mother was Mattie Mae Smith. Edward died when she was a young girl and her Mother (my Grandmother) married Jesse L Willmore (my Grandfather. Lois married John (Pop) Hollingsworth sometime after she divorced Winston Burt. I am not certain but I think that Jesse Willmore and Charles that is listed as Lois' Father were cousins. Thanks for all your hard work on Find a Grave.

John T. Hollingsworth
Thank you for all the information you've shared here about John T. (Tyler? Taylor?) Hollingsworth, my GGGgrandfather. Because of some detailed DNA Y-chromosome testing one of my male cousins had done, which was then compared to the DNA results of other males in the Hollingsworth DNA project, we know a few things: (1) The most distant ancestor we can be sure of in our line is John T. (2) We are NOT descended from Valentine Hollingsworth, but Elias Hollingsworth, who shows up on most family trees as John T.'s father, was descended from Valentine. (3) Therefore, Elias may have raised John T., but it appears that he was not his "blood" father. As a matter of fact, most of our line's DNA matches with Hamptons, not Hollingsworths! As one person told me, there seems to have been a "paternal incident" (adoption? guardianship? illegitimate birth?) in the 1700s, most likely in Virginia. I'm searching for answers and will let you know if I find anything.

What I have for John Tyler?/Thomas? is mostly from his will in what is now Calhoun Co AL. At the time of his death it was known as Benton Co. Here is what we know of him:

1844 Census listed as taxpayer Benton Co AL
1850 Census shows wife Susannah b 1797 & states they own 400 acres
1866 Estate Deed lists wife Mary and other heirs as follows:
eldest son Wesley Hollingsworth
Mary Hollingsworth Glover
William Hollingsworth
James R Hollingsworth
Susan Hollingsworth Bonds
Harrison Hollingsworth
Samuel Hollingsworth
John Hollingsworth
Charles Hollingsworth
Warren G Hollingsworth
Lots of conjecture abt his & his parents but as far as I know, nothing substantially proven. Good luck!! Margo

P.s.- Are you related to a Rachel Hollingsworth? I think there was a connection between Caver Family and a Hollingsworth back in GA.

Reid
Hi Hunter,

In December we exchanged a few messages on a common Hulsey relative.

I came across the memorial you created for Jewel Mary Frances Reid Whiteside, daughter of William Asa & Hattie Frances (Bennett) Whiteside.

Are you related to her? She is a distant Reid relative of mine. I just sent you an edit request to link her to her parents.

Best regards,
Debbie

RE: Hollingsworths and Gentrys
Hi Hunter, so we share the Hollingsworth line and possibly the Gentry line. . .I don't have so much on the Gentry's. I can't find much information beyond my great grandmother, Maggie Gentry Hollingsworth. Is she on your tree?

Hollingsworths and Gentrys
Hi Hunter, I am a descendant of both Hollingsworths and Gentrys. My paternal grandmother was a Hollingsworth and her mother was a Gentry. I am using Ancestry.com and a professional researcher to tie myself to a Revolutionary War veteran so I can join DAR. I am eager to know if you have a family tree on Ancestry that I can view or any other genealogy research that you could send me. My great grandmother was Maggie Gentry and my grandmother was Vera Hollingsworth. Are either of these names on your tree? They were both originally from Alabama, Lawley I think and moved to Atlanta in the early 1900's, like the 40's, I think. Thanks.

RE: Pointer
The information that I am hoping for is there a map or reference as to "where" in Pine Grove Cemetery Martha Caroline Henderson/Pointer and Henry Thomas Pointer are buried. There is no markers for either of them my grandmother said. She never showed us where in Pine Grove, only said thats where they were. But now that grandmother is gone And no markers, is there ANY other stored/kept site records? We also have climbed and searched for "relative" names and empty spaces. Hoping someone has recorded in what area of Pine Grove that they rest. Thank you, Donna

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping.......

Yes, I am a descendent of the White Plains Morgans. My great grandfather was Clark Morgan, son of Caleb Garrison Morgan, son of Samuel Morgan Jr and so on.....

I also descend from the Martin's and the Watsons.

Clarice was my second cousin through her mother.

Pointer
I see that you have searched Walter D Pointer 1872 in Pine Grove Cemetery in Anniston, Ala. My g-grandparents were Henry Thomas Pointer 1877? and Martha Caroline Henderson/Pointer 1868?. They are both buried in Pine Grove with no markers! Usrey Funeral Home buried Martha in 1930 I do not know when Walter Sr died. 1944 Walter (Buster) Pointer Jr died. Iam attempting to make a Mothers and Daughters memoir for My granddaughter, who's mother (my daughter) died in 2009. Any leads or info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Donna email dndphillips@centurylink.net
