Thank you for the correction. My records do show 11 Nov as his birth date. My fat fingers don't always go where they are suppose to.

Could you quote me your reference on
the year of birth, since it is two year difference
from the stone... I would appreciate it. 157058747

|James Bretzke||Would you like me to transfer the other Bloods?|
I transferred the two Blood memorials that you submitted edits for, as I gather you probably have a closer link to these people than I would. I also manage a couple of other Blood memorials and would be happy to transfer those as well if you should wish.

Thanks for the info on Kathleen. I wondered why her name on the headstone said South.

|Barbara (Feldkamp) Burns||Blood Family|
I double check the records for the Scio Cemetery and they have her death date as 9/23/1855 at the age of 21yrs, 7ms, 16ds. So if she is listed in the 1860 census than they have the year wrong in their records---could it have been 1865?? That i guess we will never know. As I don't think the stones are there anymore! The Charles that I listed is a brother to Oliver, Jr. as he is listed in the 1850 census under this Father Oliver Sr. and Lucy as he was born in 1844. Please e-mail any additional information if you come across anything on this as it would be nice to get this old cemetery recorded.

|Helen Wilson||Mary Wallace Blood Wedgewood|
Hello: Mary Blood died at the Carroll Co. Farm ("poorhouse") in 1890 & is among some 300 paupers in the cemetery id'd by #, not name; I obtained the names thru research & recorded many of them. I see that mary Wallace Blood married Joseiah Wedgewood in 1843 in Boston and in the 1850 census they lived in Salem, Ma. w/ 2 sons. I do not find them living together in later records. In 1860, a Mary Blood b. in NH lived in Cornish NH & another Mary Blood, b. in NH, lived in NY. J. Wedgewood, b. in NH, was living in Iowa. There were Wedgewoods living in Tuftonboro, very near Ossipee.
By the 1880 census, Mary Blood, age 57, lived as an inmate at the Farm, which housed the poor, elderly, unwed mothers etc etc I do not find any other Blood's among those recorded in the cemetery.
I assume she left or was left by her husband, or was widowed ('tho the 1880 census gives her marital status as "married"; the death record gives it as "widowed"). She died of dysentery.
I am hoping in the future to have some general identifying marker placed at the entrance to this cemetery.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Edits accepted! I also took the liberty of transferring the two memorials to your care. You have so many Blood family memorials that they must be your kin!
Best wishes for a healthy & happy holiday season,

|glenda (contributor #47305349)||Vista Nielsen|
You requested a name change for Vista Nielsen that I declined because Find A Grave guidelines say to NOT include multiple surnames in the surname field. I did update her maiden and middle names as you requested and there is a link to her first husband.

|Susanna||RE: H Blood MD|
I went back and looked at the Orwell Township Cemetery listing - they have two entries for H. Blood. One shows Plot #50; I will look again for a gravestone in this plot as I did not find one to photograph on my previous trip. The other shows Plot #52, which is where the Civil War Monument containing several names is located. The names I was able to make out on one side of the monument: L S Saunders, Z Northway and H Blood MD. On another side: Luke Northway, Ed Northway, Chas Reeves, Chas Jenkins and Jas Joiner. On another side: Albert Drew, W A Covert, G King and F Babcock.
Some of those listed above have two entries on the township listing, seeming to indicate a grave and the Civil War Monument in Plot 52; some names have only the Plot 52 designation. The one for H Blood cites Plot 50 and Plot 52, although there could be two persons with the name H Blood...

Thanks for the info! I will remove the memorial for Orwell North Cemetery and post the photo on Blood's memorial under the category "other".

Thank you for sending the link to her husband. Once again, this is one that I just added to Find A Grave and already you've found her! I hope the link is to the correct person. This name seems to be more common than I would have thought.
Anyway, I've just added a photo of her headstone.

|Downing||RE: Birth of Harry S Blood|
His head stone only has his birth and death years. I used the birthdate from his World War I Draft Registration Card. That I could view a copy of the original and that he signed.

|Jack Franke||Urben Blood|
It looks like Urben is Melvin V. Blood.
There are only 4 markers on this lot for Urban, Orville and Ira, and a M. E. Ellis.
Death record in Grand Traverse County is for Melvin V. on 7-25-1904.
I am going back to the cemetery office tomorrow to see who all (Blood) might be in this lot an thecemetery.
I can transfer these three to you for you to maintain.

Thank you for all that great information on Nina. I did process both of the edits you sent me editing some of the erroneous info from the obit.
I am transferring the memorial to you so you can apply whatever else of that information you see fit to her memorial.

|Carolyn Arntson||Murie Blood|
I have received your suggestion for Murie Blood in the Milwaukie (Oregon) Pioneer Cemetery. I am not related and am simply joining a group of people inputting into Find A Grave all the burial information the Pioneer Cemetery has I have no way of knowing if your information is accurate (son of William H Blood and Elsie Mary Brayton) and try to be very careful in my additions/changes
If you are related or have more information on the BLOOD family I would be more than happy to transfer this memorial to you (and any others with my name shown on them - it only means I transcribed/added the memorial from records)
Please let me know.

Thanks for the additional info. Have added it plus have made note SSDI shows 1929 as YOB. Have left the other year as it shows on her marker - 1927. Can attest YOB on SSDI can be in error for those who only had to fill out a form to receive their card - no proof of DOB was required until the 1990s for the most past. Two in my own immediate line fudged a bit on their ages.
