RE: John Henry kendig
Yes he was. Unfortunately he passed when I was only two. My mother said he loved kids and would have been an amazing grandpa.

Amos Kendig Memorial
Hi again Mary,

Amos Kendig is my GGGrandfather. You already transferred John Kendig earlier, would you be willing to transfer Amos to me also?
To answer your earlier question, I live in California and been researching my family for at least 4 years now. It's never ending!
Thank you Mary

RE: Harriet Virginia Boston
Virginia, mother of the child named Harriet Virginia Boston, was only married once. David Y is the sibling that is indicated to be a half-sibling. I believe it is because the creator of his memorial (who is responsible for connecting him to his mother, Virginia) does not have him connected to his father, William. This is not attributable to any action on my part.

RE: Charles Kendig
Since he was your great-grandfather I transferred the memorial. The Omaha death register isn't available online, only on microfilm at the Omaha Public Library and the Nebraska State Historical Society library in Lincoln. Let me know if you'd like a copy of Charles's record.

Charles Kendig
Hello! I added information to Charles Kendig's memorial from from his marriage record (which names his parents), his death record, and census records. Please let me know if it helps you identify him as your great-grandfather.

I also added a photograph of his gravestone. Unfortunately, it's flat on the ground and the inscription has completely worn off. I'm only certain it's his because he's buried in Section 3, Block 9, Lot 14 and the stone is directly east of the Stephen Bowes marker in Section 3, Block 8, Lot 14.

Mary, thanks for entering the memorial. I would be glad to take the memorial. I didn't see a choice to just request the memorial. The only choice had a $5 fee. Can you just assign it to me?

Mike

Hi Mary
I deleted my bio of Helen R. Marek. I'm glad to see that she is corrected and in the right place.
Thank you.

This is only one child; her first name is Helen but they called her Roberta. Lorene's first name is Carrie, she was my aunt. I noticed the dod has two different dates. Aunt Lorene used to live in Elpaso Ar, i noticed yours said Little Rock. Roberta is burried in Braggadocio in Culp cemetery. There is a picture on her tombstone, looked like a precious little girl. Aunt Lorene didnt speak of her much

RE: helen marek and roberta marke
Hi Mary
It has been a while since we last talked, nice hearing from you again.
I would guess that Helen and Roberta Marek is the same person. Notice that Helen's middle initial is "R". I put her in Little Prairie since the Obit says she is there. I didn't see the stone. I could not find either of them on the Missouri Death Cert. If she belongs in Culp Cemetery, I will put her there and delete her as soon as the person who took Roberta's bio puts her Obit on there. (Probably Helen's Obit)

Mary, you're sure welcome. I noticed the spelling of the name Ferne on the stone. If that's correct, the cemetery directory and Find a Grave record is incorrect.

The best place to do any research would be to contact the Carroll County Genealogical Society. If you send an email to Anne Haliotis at ahaliotis@internetni.com and tell her what and who you are looking for. They have records from cemeteries, census, churches, funeral homes and newspapers of Carroll County, Illinois. I would do some research for you but I am moving to Texas and I won't be in the area much longer.

RE: Ransom hill and store
Good Morning Mary!!
Yes the old store is off Hwy. 162 or Kibler Rd. as we know it, On Oak Grove Rd. Once you turn on oak Grove it is maybe a mile or so down. There is a large steep hill and the old store was right at the bottom. I work at a little Cafe in Van Buren, We have a customer that comes in alot that Grew up in that area. I am waiting for him to come in so i can ask about the old farm.
