RE: Memorial Transfer
Glad to do it. As I researched for her memorial I saw that you were managing other Prescott family members. So I thought you might want to manage hers to ease future updates.

I live in Mercedes, Texas. I am not sure of any link in her name and the town, but that made me want to set the memorial for her.

Please receive my condolences to you and her family and friends.

Regards, Rafael

Requests
Hi Brad: as you can see by the time, it's about 2:00AM and it's not uncommon for me to work this late - your requests are not a problem, but I would like to ask for a few at a time - say maximun of 4-6 over a week. I handle so many, if I get more, you might have to wait awhile before I get to them. I will work on yours tomorrow. Have a good morning.

Numerous requests
Hi Brad: Quite a few and I'm wondering if family research for relatives or others might be trans-ferred to you. I will await your reply and have a good day. P.S. I might suggest you look at my personal Find A Grave Bio, Paragraphs 4-6, as to how I handle various requests from Contributors.

Hi, Brad,

The pictures are posted for Lewis and Ellen Dretke. I also added a memorial and pictures for Marguerite Dretke Stewart, who is buried in the same grave as Lewis Dretke. From the dates and her middle name of Ellen, it appears that she is their daughter. However, before I will link her to them, you will need to confirm that for me.

I hope you were looking for her... Anyway, she is now found.

RE: Dretke Memorials
Hi, Brad,

I have made the suggested corrections and updates. I notice that you indicate that her date of death was Nov. 3, while cemetery records indicate that it was Nov. 13. Since I am going to that cemetery tomorrow, I shall be taking and adding photos of their marker tomorrow. I will check with the cemetery manager about the precise date. They are extremely helpful people.

Thank you for the further information. I love to learn about the people I "visit".

Hi, Brad,

Due to some regrettable incidents, I only transfer memorials in line with Findagrave regulations any more. Uncles and aunts do not qualify.

However, any links, information, or other materials you care to send me will be added to the memorials post haste. My update time is within 24 hours at all times. Usually, within one hour.

Hellooooooo Brad!
How's it going, cousin?

I hope this message finds you and all your loved ones well, my friend.

I'm off Friday to return "home" for a spell. My mother's health is in a steep nose dive... respite care and imminent death are closing in like vultures, so I'm heading back after letting my horrific upper respiratory infection subside a bit — I certainly don't want to infect her at this point.

This will be my first trip back in ten years, so it has the potential to be somewhat bittersweet.

I will chat with you more upon my return. So, take care.

Tony

RE: Family Linkage
Dear Mr. Prescott,
I completed the following requests you sent;
Would you please link Louisa Tippetts McCammon: #46923905 to her husband Thomas W. McCammon: #46924102? Would you mind adding Thomas' middle name, Walter, to his memorial as well?

Additionally, I like you to link Louisa to her parents, Ellen Rosenbaum Tippets: # 31069114 and
Joseph William Tippets: #31069052.

Would you also correct the spelling of Louisa's maiden name? Her family's last name is spelled with only one 't' at the end.

Sincerely,
Bruce

Leroy English
Hi Brad,

Sorry for the late reply on your requests for Leroy English. Due to lack of time and so many requests it is hard to complete them all in a timely basis.

Per your request I have posted Leroy's grave marker photo.

You were asking about his wife, Bessie Muriel Payne English. I do not have any photo or information for her. Sorry…..

RE: Memorial Update
Hi Brad,

We must have common great-grandparents, as my maternal line runs through Martha Jane Hammon's elder sister, Elizabeth Magdalene Hammon (who married George Davis in Bountiful, Utah). I know about the various spellings of the last name, but since Martha's headstone had the spelling with the "D" at the end, and since she isn't my direct line, I didn't know if Martha had changed the spelling herself, or if it was a mistake. I know mistakes have shown up on headstones all over the country, so it's no surprise to find out that a family member who paid for the headstone didn't know the correct spelling, but I didn't want to make any assumptions without some confirmation from a direct descendent.

I wish findagrave.com had a fuzzy search like the soundex searches on FamilySearch.org. It would make finding people so much easier. Maybe someday they will get that figured out. In the meantime, I'll be happy to change the last name to Hammon, if you will confirm that you are a direct line descendant. Just email me with a yes or a no, and I'll make that change.

My records have a birthdate of July rather than June. I have entered the June date on her record, but noted the variation in the notes section. If you have any biographical info you'd like added, just type it in an email and I'll cut and paste it into the bio section, noting that it came from you.

Also, if Martha Jane is your direct line and you'd like to be administrator on hers, and other lines that I have on findagrave.com (such as the other Prescotts that I posted), I'm happy to pass them on to you. I have stage IV breast cancer and am undergoing chemotherapy for who knows how long, so I am sometimes slow to get to changes, depending upon how things are going. Just let me know if you'd like me to turn them over to you.

Thanks again!

GW picture
Hi Brad,
I don't have a copy of GW with his first wife, but it does ring a bell that in the past I saw a photo where that was thought to be the case. What I don't remember is if we decided it was indeed Bash and GW, or whether we decided it was GW Jr. and wife.
We didn't have any of these photos in my immediate family. I became interested in genealogy around '81 as a teenager, then in the mid 80's got hooked up with Jo Alice Morey who was a Hosey/Hosea descendant through a sister of GW Sr. I got a couple pictures through her--she was very big in gen. research and well connected. My dad also hooked me up with a few too. He grew up in Hd co and returned there to retire, so reconnected with everyone and enjoyed talking to folks and exchanging copies of old family photos.
I'm guessing your line comes down through GW, Jr.? Many are. My line is through GW Jr's brother John Smith. I do know one elderly fellow who is through a son of GW Sr.'s first bunch.
At some point I put up a Hosey/Hosea family website of Hardin Co. TN on Geocities, then later expanded with a sister site for Hardin County bios. Both sites seemed fairly popular, but Geocities was taken off line, so the sites went too. From time to time I'll see bits that were taken from my site in other places. The little bio on GW Sr. memorial is one I wrote using research and oral interviews with my grandfather and his cousin.
One big question for me was always why the two name spellings. My grandfather told different tales through the years as to why some spelt the name with an -a and some with a -y. So that mystery still remains.

Hi Brad
The photo of Francis and George actually came out of my own family collection, but I'm sure many other family members have a copy as well.

Aunt Dauna
I've linked her to her parents. Thank you for giving me her maiden name, it has also been added. If there is any more info you can give on her let me know. I've been trying to find her obit and places. And of course linking her to her children is very important. Her hubby, Thayle is our relative. After updating I've promised to return her to the creator of the memorial.
