Thank you for the edits. I appreciate your help. I am not as familiar with the people from the Elk Point area as I am from the central part of the county that I reside in.

First of all I want to thanks you Carolyn for all your dedication in helping others. Its appreciated more than you know!
I am trying to find information on Mahala Anderson Coats. She married John C. Coats April 19, 1858 in Morengo Iowa for what I am finding.
They had 5 children: One being Anna Matilda Coats BOTTORF~Fanny would have been my Great Grandmother who I can not locate where she is buried~ Delila ~ Marion B. ~ and William C.
I can not find whom were Mahala parents were. I haven't found any obits at all. I am in hopes that after posting this I will finally make some headway on Mahala and my Great Grand Mother Fanny Coats Preston. My Grandmother was raised by some of the Coats Family...
Thank you for any help or advise in advance!

|Roger Dimick||Lyle Dimick|
Carolyn, thank you for all the work you have done on Bluff View Cemetery. One comment which may have been written by you is "Lyle Dimick may not be buried in Bluff View". I assure you he is, but in some of the cemetery I have seen he is reported to be buried in the Horace Edwin Dimick plot. He is not there, because I have seen his grave. I was just at Bluff View this week and walked around specifically looking for his burial plot. He was not next to him mother and father, which I thought might be the case because (I think) Lyle never married. I was a small boy (five or six) when he passed away, and I remember "Aunt Mary" very well. She doted on me and other kids a lot that day. Wish I could give you the specific location, but it is in Bluff View. You and I are "shirt tail" relatives...not connected by blood...but we do have some commonality in our genealogies.

|Old Country Roots||RE: Margaret Backus|
I would be happy to add any information that you would be willing to send. And I would be happy to transfer any family to you. I am not related to the Backus family except for Dr. Loretta Backus, who was my gg-grandfather's second wife. I'll transfer Margaret and you can decide on the others.

|Old Waco||Julian and Clarke families|
Last night, I added to findagrave most of the known Julian and Clarke individuals listed in the book on the Frankfort Cemetery, although it will take a while to learn the relationships and dates.
I plan to add Harriett L. Julian Clarke to the Lower Benson Pres. Cemetery soon.
Thanks for your help.

|Old Waco||Hamlett Julian|
I think it would be very appropriate to place a memorial site on findagrave for Hamlett Julian at the Lower Benson Presbyterian Cemetery since so many of the early members of this family were buried in this cemetery. You have gathered so much information on him and are most welcome to do this if you wish.
Thanks for preserving his memory.

|Deb Redmon||County Poor Farm|
I can find little in the way of stating if the Alms Houses/Poor Farms had burial grounds on them. What I did find leads me to believe they did not. I found records giving who was the keeper of the one in Bridgeport at various times. I also happened to have a "duh" moment and thought to look at my property map of Bridgeport and it shows it's location. It was literally just outside of Bridgeport. Based on the map, I would say it was on the property located on the East side of the old drive-in.
As for burials, I found that the city and county apparently had a common graveyard. I could find very little in the way of records, but there was one where they approved a new fence. Another made reference to it being "just outside the city up the hill." This one makes me believe that the burials were done in Greenhill as many locals still today say it was the pauper's graveyard.
If you want all of the notes I was able to make, just let me know. Once the courthouse is back in order (if that ever happens) I will inquire to their clerk's office to see where any records they may have on it are at and try to view some of them.

|Walter Chisholm||RE: County Poor Farm and Almshouse|
I inquired and got this response...
"The only County Poor Farm I am familiar with was located off US127 South. Turn east onto Miles Lane across from Sach's Grocery and go out that road a few miles. You come to Wash Road which turns to the right. It was somewhere in this area. Several months ago there was an article in the State Journal about the Poor Farm. Someone has purchased the property and has been remodeling the buildings."
That's all I can find out.

|Deb Redmon||County Poor Farm and Almshouse|
I see that you have listed a couple of people at the County Poor Farm and Almshouse. (I just started doing some Harrod family members earlier today and saw yours for Nancy and Georgie).
The first one was located out near Bridgeport around the area where the old Starway Drive-In was. I am not sure of it's exact location, but know that is the general area. Someone from out that way may know more about where it was. I know from records it was operating at least as early as 1874. In 1910, the county purchased a farm originally owned by Thomas Paxton out on Wash Road and the Almshouse/Poor Farm was moved out there. The house and some of the original buildings are still there. So, if the two you listed are buried on the County Farm, they would have to be on Wash Road.

|Tina Wingate||Ledridge- Weitzel|
While at Frankfort Cemetery today I took photos of all the Ledridge and added additional memorials for a few that you had not set up yet. There is more information that you will be able to use from the headstones. I also took the photo of Rebecca Weitzel and her husband's headstones. At anytime, if you want any of these memorials transfered to you please let me know and I will be glad to do so.
Hope you are having a nice Memorial Day.
