RE: Reuben and Ruby Cummings
We do think that this is the right headstone.
The attached death cert. has the same birth date.
We believe that Ruby was short For Reuben.

Lisa, you are very welcome. It is my pleasure. I spent a lot of time determining that the headstone is most likely correct. It was within inches of David's.

RE: Mina Spaulding
You are very welcome, Lisa. I think the Barrett surname on the other memorial was a guess based on the fact that there were also Barretts around, but then, that's a guess on my part. The cemetery records, however, definitely showed Mina Spaulding in that location - and they showed that she was just a baby.

Take care.

I noticed you left a flower on the subject memorial for Lucy Pattie. With no middle name and no dates, it could be any one of several in my database or many in the large Pattie family. You re-energized my interest in the Pattie line and I sent an inquiry of clarification to the owner. I've assumed it's Lucy Phenton but cannot determine that fact for certain. Were you able to determine which Lucy this represents.

RE: 18311426 - Mary A Pattie
You're welcome. My notes reflect only the highlights of what I've read. I believe SDSU and other San Diego institutions have much more. I'm always happy to boast about this guy. I'd invite any comments, criticisms or corrections to my notes. They've been cobbled together over the years rather than a planned, continuous effort.

I'll take another look at it anyway. Regarding Sylvester PATTIE, I have two of them in my database and both are sons of Johns. One is very famous and the other is his grandson. The famous Sylvester is my 4th cousin and that means your husband and I are related but distantly. I'm sure your husband will be interested in what I've accumulated over the past 40 years. You may already know it but they named several places in the Grand Canyon after him. And they named a WW II Liberty Ship after him. Please look at the following link for those and many other milestones in his short life and long biography:

Thanks for your interest in the Pattie line. I was afraid the photo of Captain James Samuel PATTIE might create confusion but wanted a more personal link to the woman he left behind. I trusted that the caption under her husband's photo would allay any confusion and I apologize if it did not. Captain James Samuel Pattie was my 2nd Great Grandfather and I'm sure you and I are related. Please read the caption and let me have your recommendation. I'd be happy to delete the photo and move the caption to the space for "flowers" or delete all of it and leave a link to my detailed bio for them. You may see what I have for her at:

and for him at:

Thanks again for your interest.

Sybil Hubbard
Hi Lisa,

I checked the newspaper today, the April 9, 1831 edition of the Vermont Republican and Journal, and there is a death notice for Sybil Hubbard. She was 88 when she died in Windsor. It leads me to think she may be buried at Old South without a headstone, or that her headstone disintegrated.

My Promise to YOU
I am very sorry about not getting that Item to you that I promised in very early July. I got a new computer with Windows 7 on it and boy oh boy it's like living in 1996 again when I first started with Windows the first time after loving my first computer. Gee, I can't remember the number now but it was an Apple. I'm still belly aching about it and I will have to take a class when I get to Florida when move there in October.

I just got a new printer and have to hook it up to the computer. I hope there is no problem with that.

So please just sit tight. I willlllll get it to you. It is the first page in my Bellevue Riverside Cemetery workbook so I won't.

Carolynn Herrera Freeman
I checked with Green Acres again to no avail. The man that I talked to today checked under both last names again just to make sure that they have to record of her and nothing is listed with her mom's marker about Carolynn. I'm sorry that I couldn't provide you with any better news.
