Mount Olivet in Barnwell
I have an odd question/request.

I just found an obituary for my cousin from 1999. It lists her as buried in Mount Olive cemetery. I can't find one, but did find Olivet. Is there anyway possible to find out for sure if she is there? I would like to enter the memorial for her since she is not on Find A Grave, but want to make sure I have the correct cemetery first. I have emailed the funeral home that had her services, but had no response yet. Wasn't sure if you were close or not. Her name is Flossie Denny Brant, 1926-1999. Thank you for your time, I am in Alabama and unable to travel to SC.

Hi,
I just noticed that you have two memorials for the same person:

#42083665, entered 9-17-09 for Nancy M. Ownbey

#51251778, entered 4-17-2010 was for Nancy Moffitt Ownbey.

Her full name is Nancy Elizabeth Moffitt Ownbey. I did submit an edit on her name.

Thank you!

RE: Memorial
Hey- the two I mainly want you have control over. After reading through the FAQ's I'd have to get you to click the transfer memorial top right in order to get them. I don't have those options on my page.

If you'd transfer my Mom & Brother I'd be fine. If it's to much of a bother I'm fine with not having them.. Just would feel a little better having them.. THANKS FOR YOUR WORK ON ADDING AND DOCUMENTING THEM!! Truly appreciated..

Also- Do you think we could change the location of the cemetery for Chestnut Hill? I don't know what to do about that.. It's in Fairview as you know, but they have Asheville. I think that'd be good to have Fairview on it.. Sorry for bothering you!

William Gilbert was a son to Jessie Gilbert Sloop, He was my fathers half -brother. I believe that the grave for Billy Sloop # 59226731 is his grave. According to his death certificate he was killed by a gunshot wound to his abdomen in 1934.

his father was Jessie Gilbert Sloop #130163282 and his mother Jennie Newton Sloop #130163354. He is buried In the grave plot of his grand-father Isaac Newton #51431663.

Hi Ronald,

These gentlemen are not buried in the Hughey Cemetery. Most of their family is in Berea. I am going there again this weekend, as people keep adding to burials and they aren't there.

Thanks

Jacob Holbrooks
Hi Ronald - I just lucked onto your picture of the grave of Jacob Holbrooks. He apparently died in infancy. Do you know anything more about him? Or were there any more Holbrooks buried nearby? I'm trying to figure out my family and since they repeat the same names generation after generation, it's kind of hard!
Thanks in advance -

Lisa

Ronald, Thank you so much for your work with Find A Grave. It means so very much to people like me who cannot visit cemeteries anymore. I have been doing genealogy since the 80's and visited many of the cemeteries in Henderson, Rut, and Polk counties over the years. Now you who are doing such a fantastic job with your helping Find A Grave that it makes it possible for me to find many of my family that I would not have ever found. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I also would like to commend you for your past service to the public. I have a few law enforcement in my family and I know what a hard job that is (and thankless a lot of the time).I would like to copy some of your photos for my family files on Ancesty and Family TreeMaker if it is all right with you.

Please transfer Frederick Walker Parris to me
Hello Ron, Thank you for adding him back when too. My wife is his eldest daughter. I mistakenly added him to Black Mountain Veterans Cemetery, did not realize that you had placed him in the correct spot. I will merge the two memorials. Thanks again.

The Pierson/Pearson Family
Hello, Ron.

Please refer to your memorials for:
JAMES MADERSON PEARSON,
Find A Grave Memorial# 96437511
and his wife,
EMILY ALICE COLLINS PEARSON,
Find A Grave Memorial# 96437648

When we took photos at Cathey's Creek Cemetery, we did not find the PEARSONS because their grave photos were under PIERSON. Therefore, we put in two duplicates:

JAMES MADISON PIERSON,
Find A Grave Memorial# 140285016
and his wife
EMILY ALICE COLLINS PIERSON
Find A Grave Memorial# 140284956
These memorials have grave photos, parent links, spousal links, and an UNKNOWN (perhaps a child) Pierson link, too. Also, some genealogy info was copied in to back up the info posted.

We think it would be for you to move one photo of James' PEARSON death cert to the James PIERSON memorial, and then you could delete the 2 PEARSON memorials.

We will send you some EDIT TAB corrections for their daughter to link her to the PIERSON memorials.
She has a husband and daughter linked to her. Her maiden name needs correction to PIERSON.

Thank you, in advance for all the trouble. We apologize for any time & effort you may have to take to correct the situation that the name spelling has caused. Unfortunately, the FindAGrave Search engine does not give alternate spellings of names when one searches.

Gratefully,
PATTYB&JR

That is my Mary Ann Dotson! They had a second son in 1873, James A. Milner! Thank you for the information. I couldn't find her parents! How is your wife kin to the Rogers? I haven't been able to find James M. Rogers kids. I know that him and Mary had at least 2.
I have to ask! Are you in blk mtn?! If so, I think our families know each other!! lol!

Wade Shook Jr Memorial # 92724619 - needs correction
Hi Ronald! Wade Shook Jr was my grandfather. If you could remove the TILLMAN as his middle name, that would be great. He was just WADE SHOOK JR. Granny didn't give him a middle name. Thank you! Jessi

Alice P. and Grace H. Smith
Hi,I'm wondering where you got the death dates for them. From stones in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia? I'm putting together a little book on this Smith family, and since you don't have pictures of the stones, I'm wondering about your source. Their parents, Alonzo P. and Althea Smith and Alonzo's second wife, Caroline, are also there. But Althea died in Naugatuck in 1862, long before the family moved to Ansonia. So I'm puzzled. If you have a family record, I'd love to know about it.
Thanks,
Helen Ullmann
